A good friend of mine is having a themed event and asked me where to get a good corset. Based on having been here before and trying on a corset out of curiosity, I knew Dark Garden would be our stop! Setting the appointment was very simple and fast. I received a confirmation email right after scheduling and a reminder email an hour before my appointment. Three of us attended, we all have different body types and there was something for all of us. Annabelle did a phenomenal job answering questions and offering insight into the best styles for our curves and aesthetics. If she couldn't answer a specific question, Autumn was available to weigh in on any inquiry we had by phone! The experience was and always is amazing when we stop in. Everyone is always lovely, 100/10 recommend it!

Writing this review in the airport after 11 days visiting the New Orleans area, I can honestly say that visiting Dark Garden here was the highlight of the trip for me. What an extraordinary place! I’m absolutely smitten and cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Dropping in we were warmly greeted by Annabelle, and after talking a bit she cheerfully offered to help me pick some corsets to try on. I was concerned prior to visiting that I might feel awkward asking to try on these high end pieces even though I was clearly a corset novice and likely wouldn’t be buying anything during my visit, but I really got the impression that it’s understood these purchases are significant and that they are truly happy to help regardless. Not once did I feel pressured and Annabelle just seemed happy to make it a lovely experience for me.
She was also generous with her knowledge. She took my measurements, showed me a basic chart of their various corset forms and explained a bit about the benefits of their shapes; what to look for in a proper fit; the excellent materials they use; how to best care for them; the process of properly lacing them and then taking them off in a way that maintains the integrity of the hardware for the long run. I was STUNNED by how much I loved wearing these corsets. They felt just awesome (even sitting, which she had me try, as well), and looked amazing! Annabelle stored my measurements and later, with my permission, contacted me to provide that information along with quotes for each of the styles I’m interested in. I implore anyone interested in corsetry to make a stop here—I’m so glad I did!

Beautiful customade corsets. Choose your own fabric. Definitely not cheap, but custom clothing and good quality never are. The lady was very nice.

Oh, my, GOLLY GOSH! Let me tell you about my amazing experience at Dark Garden! Annabelle and Essence at Dark Garden in New Orleans were absolutely wonderful! They made me feel so welcome and helped me find the perfect corset. They even went the extra mile and recommended a fantastic place to eat after my visit. It was my first time in New Orleans, coming all the way from Dublin, and they made me feel right at home. Such a delightful experience!

This place works great on the “I-found-this-intriguing-place" tourist discovery level as well as a trusted, local favorite. The vibe is vintage New Orleans. Stylish. Sophisticated. Creative. All-inclusive. Even literary. State-of-the-art customer service. You almost have to walk through that elegant entrance to say you have experienced and understand the city. It’s got a perfect, evocative name, too. Tell me I’m wrong.

Love visiting Dark Garden for events and shopping trips. I always leave with a smile due to the great service and unique products. They are so helpful and knowledgeable about absolutely everything in the store! Whether you're looking to purchase items for everyday wear or a special event, this should be your first stop. I'm always impressed with the variety of clothing, jewelry, and one of a kind accessories - and of course the corsets. As a huge added bonus, they also regularly host events. They know how to throw a great party, too; there's always great music and local performances. If something is going down on Magazine, you can be sure they'll be participated and looking amazingly elegant in the process. With easy / free street parking, it's always easy to make a quick stop or make this the first stop on a Magazine shopping stroll. Also, I highly recommend joining their newsletter to find out about everything they do from virtual events, to in person events, and shopping specials. Overall, a great store that I'm so happy opened this location New Orleans.

This place is the real deal: a lingerie and corsetry boutique that gives the true luxe experience. The staff were SO kind and helpful--I was planning a body size change and they gave me great advice on sizing even though they knew I probably wasn't going to buy that day. They fitted me in five styles of corset, helped me take pictures, got all my data in the system, and sent me away with a $20 jewelry purchase and a smile! I'm definitely making a purchase when I'm next in the neighborhood--despite the seemingly high prices, these corsets are quality couture and definitely worth both the trip and the investment!
