My wife and I stayed at Auld Sweet Olive last year when we came to New Orleans with my cousins. This year we brought our niece along and it was her first time in New Orleans. We stayed Dec 23-28 and could not have had a better experience. It was great to see our host Kate again -- she is the perfect BnB host! She produced excellent and varied breakfasts every day and she is just a joy to sit and talk with. Kate has a wealth of inside local info and recommendations, and is just one of those people you can really connect with. The inn itself is charming and historic. It's in the Marigny district just a short walk to the French quarter, and just over a mile walk to Jackson Square and Cafe du Monde. Frenchmen Street with its live music scene is only a few blocks away, as is Loretta's Praline shop, which is actually better than Cafe du Monde for beignets. There's a good local Thai place nearby, along with the unique St. Roch Market which houses 12 start-up restaurants. Beds are comfy, rooms are unique, atmosphere in the inn is laid back and welcoming, and did I mention the fun, friendly and efficient host Kate keeping everyone happy? Stay here -- you'll love it! We're coming back next year for sure.Walkability: The best way to experience New Orleans is to walk it, and Auld Sweet Olive is ideal for walking to many fun and interesting places.

We had the pleasure of spending Christmas at the Auld Sweet Olive B&B. It was wonderful! Kate made us feel right at home. A home made breakfast prepared us for our adventure each day. The Quarter, Frenchman Street, local bars, are all within walking distance. We can't wait to go back!

Kate makes staying here a special experience. She created an itinerary for my husband and I which was terrific. Breakfasts are incredible and Kate is very accommodating towards dietary preferences/restrictions. It's a beautiful house, also.

This was such a great way to stay in NOLA, rather in a generic hotel. Great location, homey, comfortable, well appointed rooms and public space. Beautiful pool, hot tub and patio spaces. Management were warm, inviting, helpful! Breakfast was excellent and lots of choices. Beds/pillows super comfortable. We can't wait to go back!!!

Lovely stay! Thank you so much, Auld Sweet Olive! They were updating the garden while we were there, and the whole house was beautifully decorated for Halloween! Kate is an amazing host — so funny and has the best recommendations for places to go and eat. Sweet Olive is a gorgeous older home, so sometimes that means the shower pressure isn't perfect and all of the room are down one single hallway. You will run into people! You will eat breakfast with them! They will talk to you! It's part of the whole experience. Embrace it and enjoy yourself!

Welcome to Sweet Olive, a destination that promises an unforgettable experience, leaving you yearning for more. From the moment I arrived at this charming Bed and Breakfast, I was warmly welcomed by fellow guests, eager to share their incredible stories. Stepping into my room, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by its undeniable charm. The bed, meticulously crafted for ultimate comfort, provided me with a serene haven for a restful night's sleep. Before drifting off, I immersed myself in a captivating book, allowing my mind to wander to a world of dreams. And let's not forget about the blissful hot tub experience, where I found complete relaxation and rejuvenation. And oh, breakfast! The culinary feast that awaited me was a true delight; fluffy eggs infused with the aromatic flavors of basil, onions, and peppers, accompanied by crispy bacon and an assortment of fresh fruits that tantalized my taste buds. Sweet Olive offers an enchanting stay that leaves a lasting impression and beckons you to return time and time again."Rooms: My room was amazing. There is just so much about Auld Sweet Olive to feed your heart and soul. Inside and out, it is gorgeous…and Kate, the innkeeper, is an absolute jewel. Her welcoming presence, warmth, and graciousness adds so much to the inn’s comfort and style. This trip, I was in the Sweet Olive room, and I loved its little patio for an afternoon read or glass of wine. I want to try all the other rooms—each seems to have its own special character—and remember to bring my bathing suit next time!

My recent stay in this New Orleans rental was a great experience. The house has multiple rooms, social areas and a pool which made it perfect for a getaway weekend with friends. The neighborhood felt safe and with its location we were in walking distance of many things. Accommodations were top-notch and the pool was great for hanging out and relaxing. The owners treated us like family during the visit - I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting New Orleans.

We found the best b+b in NoLa! Four of us stayed in the connected rooms, and it was perfect for us. Very close to Frenchman St, Roche market, good restaurants, bars, and music! Kate’s breakfasts were amazing and she was a fabulous host. We all enjoyed the new pool, eclectic style, cozy rooms, and even the other guests. Will be staying here any time I’m in NoLa!

Hubby and I had the most delightful stay at this GEM of a bed and breakfast back in July. This is NOLA's best kept secret and I almost wish it would remain so because this is the only place I am going to stay from now on and I don't want you all to book it up! First and foremost, Kate is the most welcoming, charming hostess you will ever meet. She made us feel right at home and like we were long time friends from the moment we stepped through the door. We enjoyed her company, all the laughs, her suggestions for where to eat, and her delicious breakfasts. The house itself it beautiful and tastefully appointed, and the rooms so charming that I honestly couldn't tell you if I had a favorite one (we got to see them all). We loved lounging in the living room reading, and did I mention there's a POOL!! Oh lawd, it was so hot when we came and we lived at that pool, along with a chilled bottle of wine we snagged from a lovely wine shop down the street. Marigny is a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with plenty of its own hidden gems when it comes to places to eat and drink, yet just a very short walk away from the Quarter. I can't wait to come back soon!
