It was my first hostel experience in The US. I stayed 3 nights. Rooms and common areas were very clean. Location of the hostel is good enough. You can reach many touristic area by street car, easily. To met and spent time with volunteer friends from different countries and cultures was very nice. All of them were super friendly. Thank you!

Very, very clean and renovated/updated place. Probably the cleanest and most modern hostel I've ever stayed at. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs - lots of squeaky floorboards and they come in from partying at about 2-3am. I would say if you're not into the party environment, you may want to think carefully before booking. The only thing I have to ding them on is that the toilets on my floor were inaccessible during my entire stay, despite promising they'd only be out one night. Some amenities they could include if they really wanted to enhance the experience: curtains for the beds!

I had heard good things about this place and it was all 100% true! This is one of those hostels where you could stay for a long time with a great social atmosphere, nice and inviting staff, and nightly activities so it's easy to meet people. I also thought the place itself was super unique because it's a New Orleans style mansion. We got the private room and it was very clean and had everything we needed, including a private bathroom. We will be back during our next stay for sure!

We stayed for 5 nights and loved every single one of them. The staff were amazing, telling us all about the area when we got checked in was great to help us get our bearings. They organise nights out every night and are great at getting everyone introduced and comfortable. A great place for Solo travellers, you'll meet tons of others at these parties. The staff always had tips and advice for things to do.All in all Auberge NOLA Hostel is the embodiment of a perfect hostel

What an experience it was! ? This was my first hostel experience and I can’t say anything bad. So many nice and wonderful people together in one place. I can’t describe in words what a ride it was! So disappointed I couldn’t stay longer. Definitely recommended!

Loved the experience. The folks that work there are amazing and go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and part of the community. The get-togethers every night were the highlight of my stay there.

Everyone the owner and volunteers were absolutely lovely. I was so nervous first coming in never fully solo traveled, but immediately fell in love. Great sense of community, and I felt safe and comfortable. They have social events that nearly everyone went to. Then they typically go out bar hopping in a group. So as a female this was a great safety benefit. If you are debating on this place don’t, because it just made me more excited and reassured about solo traveling

I’ve stayed in many hostels and even in one in NOLA before and this was by far the best - I struggled to leave! The volunteers were great in making you feel welcomed and organising the evening social for guests. As they were young travellers themselves they became friends while keeping everyone happy and safe. Cass, best, Jamie and Ben - thank you! It’s always hard to leave a good city / hostel and this place was no different, I will definitely be back the next time I’m in NOLAJack ?

This place is INCREDIBLE!! My first night in New Orleans (ever!) And it was an absolute blast. I have stayed at over a dozen hostels now and this one by far was the best experience I've had so far!! The energy was so positive and infectious. Super wholesome! They do pregames every night, yes... EVERY NIGHT! Different people take turns hosting the pregame on the outdoor patio, and it actually gets a pretty good turnout of people with a mix of people who've been staying for a few nights or a week or people who just arrived! It's an amazing magical energy, a melting pot, where people from all over mix and mingle before going out to explore the famous Bourbon Street or other nightlife options, whatever people want to do. My first night, we picked up drinks from a corner store a couple blocks away and drank casually for a few hours playing a variety of different drinking games. Someone from the Netherlands shared a drinking game they played growing up from their country. And then someone else shared a drinking game from theirs. It was very interesting hearing what it's like in Paris, or Australia, etc and getting to hear different views and perspectives on things. I made some genuinely good friends here that I hope to keep in touch with. If you want a classic night of New Orleans debauchery in the good company of fellow travellers, this is the place to stay!! Plenty of communal spaces on every floor for privacy or socializing with other guests! My only complaint is that there's only one private bathroom, and all the others are communal with just a curtain. Sometimes you might need to wait a little bit for the private room if you don't feel comfortable sbowering in a room of strangers, but for the most part the bathrooms are pretty quiet and not busy so you can find a spot to refresh easily. The Auberge is run entirely by volunteer travellers who get room and board while working there. Most people probably stay and help out for a month or two while they're exploring New Orleans themselves so you're among fellow travelers the moment you step in the door. I met the owner while I was there, a super chill and cool guy. He was more than happy to stop and chat for a while to answer questions I had about New Orleans, how hard it was keeping a place like a hostel running above water (metaphorically and literally) during covid when all travel stopped and when hurricanes trash the place. He explained how all the volunteers are interviewed by him and selected for being outgoing and welcoming to foreign travellers. They work 25 hours (usually a 12 hour shift 2 days a week) which seems mostly like just having fun tbh and you get to stay for free, in a pretty flexible way.I stayed two more nights with another friend during Jazzfest and it was a great time! We met someone from London who also was going to Jazzfest and split an uber over to the fairground where they were holding it. A very spontaneous fun energy that is very rare and hard to keep alive that somehow the folks at Auberge do just right!

So this was my very 1st EVER stay at a hostel & I had a blast!!! Was super nervous to begin with as I recently had cancer surgery & wasn't sure if I could travel by myself... best thing I've ever done & so incredibly grateful for the events in the evenings where I was able to go out with others, everyone was so patient with me as we walked miles eating & drinking our way through the French Quarter Festival!! Overall it was the perfect start on a new lifelong traveling journey, and what a supportive & fun start it was!!
