“This felt like a walking into a museum. We were a bit surprised we were welcomed in even though they were closing in just 15 minutes. But everyone who worked here was friendly and kept suggesting different pieces to go check out. There were so many different pieces from every era. Everything was in exquisite condition and out in the open to fully view. It is such an interesting collection and definitely worth stopping in!”

“We stumbled upon this place the other day and came across a VERY eclectic collection of what I'd call furniture art. Everything from something Genghis Khan would have had to the front of an old automobile as a love seat. You could visit as if you were going to an museum.”

“Wow, very impressive, professional craftsmanship. My door is over 100 year's old, could not find anyone who could duplicate the trim archives over the glass. I heard of Ricca's, but didn't think I could afford them, that was before I talked to Julie, she is a very pleasant, patient, knowledge professional lady. I just picked up my door ( 2 weeks early) I can't get over how perfect it looks. If you need restoration done, go to ricca's first, like me you'll be glad you did. Many, many thanks to Julie and staff. Rick Morris”

“Stopped in on my first visit to New Orleans (am moving there later this year) Wanted to see the types of stuff here and I was not disappointed. Had I more storage in NOLA I may have left with more. Instead I picked up some reproductions of antique Storyville photos to frame and put in my new place! Can't wait to come back once I am moved on in! Highly recommend stopping buy and checking things out. The Guy working was very welcoming!”

“This Antique store is so amazing, you will find things in here that you did not know you needed. I went in here to kill some time, the owner at the counter was very sweet and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing a very cool box for my necklace's, and a French version of the prayer to St. Michael, if you are looking for a unique gift this is the place to go. The prices are not bad either, I think every local should visit this store.”

“I searched forever for pantry doors and was told about Strip Ease by my designer. When I was unable to find what I wanted, I was told that I could get my doors cypress doors custom made. What a great choice! The shop was easy to work with and my well made doors were completed in a timely manner. I knew I would have to wait a little because the shop is always busy, but it was so worth the wait. I hope to use them again for custom made front doors.”

“After finding out about Dop Antiques through a local interior designer and following them on Instagram a gothic style cabinet popped up ina post and I had to have it. Upon arriving to the store the staff was above and beyond helpful when it came to searching for a makers mark including removing the pegged pieces and providing additional lighting and educating us on what they knew about the piece. After purchasing that piece we roamed the store and were shown another new piece that had come in, a chest that held wine bottles. We held back then but when their Memorial Day sale came around we found ourselves back in the store hoping the chest was still there. Luckily for us it was!! Staff was once again super friendly and helped us load it into our vehicle after purchasing it. They do have a local contact who delivers if needed, which we are doing for the first piece at a very reasonable price. All around a wonderful experience at Dop Antiques where it is easy to get lost in the maze of beautiful furnishings and chat with the great staff.”

“Love, love, LOOOOVED my experience at Naghi's w/Effy. He was a respectful, wonderful salesman without being pushy and tacky. I'm in fine jewelry myself, so I appreciated his sales behaviors and presentation. Gave me a fair price and lots of information on the pieces I bought. I watched him in action with other patrons--TOP notch service! I was also impressed with the SELECTION available: gorgeous pieces in mint condition. Will definitely be back AND spread the word with any friends and/or acquaintances visiting NOLA!”

“Absolutely adorable. We stopped in the shop while strolling magazine street before brunch. I instantly fell in love with this fantastic shop selling lots of lovely little things for the home, textiles, an incredible selection of soaps and candles mixed with fun, different, beautiful vintage and antique items and many many things imported from France all in a beautiful building. I look forward to visiting again and buying online in the meantime. Thanks Bettey!”

“Incredible service and a huge selection of vintage beauties, coming from a former New Yorker! I walked in in very casual wear and was immediately greeted by Ashley who offered to help. She showed me many pieces of Chanel vintage jewelry. There were so many options, but she helped me narrow it down, never pushing me and allowing me to try everything on. She was inquisitive and realized the importance of my purchase, a birthday gift to myself. The other saleswoman (I forgot her name) chimed in and we had a lovely conversation. Then the owner, Louis Sutton, appeared and we got to talking as well. They are all so kind and welcoming. Not desperate to make a sale, not pushy, and a keen eye on style! I will be coming back, and recommend this beautiful shop to anyone looking for a piece not easily found in stores (the earrings i got are from the vintage 1970s collection!) Thank you for creating such a beautiful experience- I will never forget my first trip to NOLA”

“Worth the drive for lovers of exquisite French antiques. Their workshop where they do restoration is an amazing sight with planks of French mahogany, walnut and cherry waiting for the expert hands of the in-house carpenter for finishing to use in tables and more. They also have some fascinating antique culinary pieces like a primitive chocolate shaver and a specially shaped ceramic holder for curing hams. All of which we learned from the expert guidance of Richard who was so generous with his time and knowledge.”

“They were so nice - and very professional. He was able to fix the lamp while I waited - and I watched actually. I was worried about the cost - like maybe it needed to be rewired. But he found a light bulb had broken off in one of the sockets. Once he removed that - it worked! He also verified the other two sockets worked.
So happy I came here. I'll be back - and I'll recommend his shop to others. And - there are also many beautiful lighting fixtures for sale. Great find!”
