“The Hammond Piggly Wiggly is such a clean store. The aisles are not cluttered. The vegetables are fresh with a nice variety. The meat department is wonderful (they have a lot of sales). The deli and bakery departments are fantastic. They are a bit far for me to drive but totally worth it. They have a huge parking lot with easy access.”
“The best grocery store left in Hammond LA. I know it's a chain but it doesn't feel like one. Their prices are really good. Their Winn Dixie card club is a great way to save money. They have a great selection of meats and seafood. Their wine and beer selection is right up there with the big stores. Their personnel and management are extremely helpful and great at what they do. I give them an A+”

“Friendly cashier and bag person. The bathroom is in the front of the store. The store is always well stocked and neat. I was very impressed with Robert Supermarket. Decent gas prices, and some good sales. Clean and stocked Supermarket with excellent service. It has a wide selection of groceries and mostly at very competitive gas prices. They seem to keep their gas prices lower than other places in town which is why I believe people will continue to come here. It is worth supporting a local business if you live in the area. It's likely to be the only landmark for anyone passing through highway 190 as well...”

“Rouses offers a variety of fresh, frozen, pre prepared food items and also high quality eats that are not found just anywhere. There’s an amazing deli, bakery and hot/cold food bars in house. Great service, easy in and out, beautiful presentation, ample free parking in a safe small town tops it all off!”

The parking lot...needs work. The multiple side conditioning units or refrigerator units on a number of places either have mold or merely look like they do, which is worrying for a place that sells food. The dumpster area needs cleaning, desperately. Lots of broken eggs on the ground that surprised me because it didn't stink from the heat, yet.
The inside isn't the prettiest of stores, and you do need to watch the dates on the food items, most don't matter because salt doesn't really go bad but some items that contain perishable items might be pushing it a little to go too far beyond the date.
The real gem is the mix and match ice cream items. Lots of unusual flavors that are hard to find elsewhere. Excellent prices on the ice cream. And again, sugar does really well at long term storage, so the dates aren't that bad.”

“My wife and I stayed at Carter's Plantation this past weekend, in for a wedding. Childers was a fantastic find!!! Had coffee and breakfast there on Saturday and Sunday. Locals place that makes ya feel welcomed. Eggs, Bacon, Grits, Biscuits and Gravy. Perfect!!”

“Newly remodled. Theyopen early making it a good place to get everything you need on your way to work or school. Stay open late so you can stop in to get anything you need before heading home.Small town Stop & shop just 5.5 miles off the interstate. If they dont have an idem your looking for just ask they'll order it. A few of must haves are a inside ATM. They accept cash credit cards ebt and offer check cashing.gas, cigarettes, drinks, snack foods, alcohol,and ice. Much more stop in and enjoy their hospitality. I would have given the 5th star if there were a working phone number to call ahead.”
“I think most of us are familiar with the Dollar General stores and their low prices. They have also grown a lot in the last decade or two and their convenient locations are more numerous than ever. I don't pretend to like all the products they sell but there's enough of them that I do like to save me a considerable amount of money. I don't think I can name a perfect place and the store by me has been having issues with one of the frozen food freezers and I am disappointed it has taken so long to resolve. I know eventually it will be solved and back to normal so my complaint is not that it happened but the length of time it's been down. Still a fan! Bon Marche! (Good Shopping)”

“Most of the material that I bought I normally get it at the Dollar tree but since they have went up from $1 to $1.25 many of the items are on the dollar aisle at Dollar general case in point facial napkins $1 a package of three toothbrushes $1 storage bags $1 so I love their dollar out because they are well stocked and I can still get my items for $1”
