I attend ULM, and I love the atmosphere, the staff, and the ability I have to choose my future. I've never felt stuck on one path because the advisors have put forth so much effort to make sure I know my options. Very clean and beautiful campus.

Is this library open to the public or is it just for the college?

Most favorite place on campus. Love reading and gaining knowledge by physically touching pages in the books as well as internet articles and journals.

The library is the jewel of campus. It's always very clean and usually fairly quiet, and the POD here is also a great feature. For any students looking on Google Maps to check the library hours, please go to the ULM site for more accurate hours, as most days they are open until 2 AM or so.

This is such a great resource for ULM students, and the conference area upstairs is so helpful to have for the community.

When you drive through, the buildings are big, there's a good number of cars and traffic lights. It feels like a separate downtown.

Stopped by and toured this area on a recent trip to Monroe. I liked the quiet atmosphere. It's a small campus, but it's very nice. It had plenty of areas to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. And some of the students were out water skiing. No, it's not as big as LSU, but it's not trying to be that big. It doesn't have to be like LSU to be a good option for further schooling.

Once named Northeast Louisiana University, and also once represented in athletic competitions by the mascot and moniker of Indians. NLU, under great pressure by the NCAA was forced to drop their long-time battle cry and change their name, to well, anything, just anything but Indians. So, they did change it to just anything: Warhawks. To this day, nobody knows what a Warhawk is. And then a few years after the mascot debacle, NLU became ULM: University of Louisiana Monroe. Thus further completing the complete alienation of all alumni, friends, and associates of the university up and to that point. It is a solid academic institution to this very day with a gorgeous campus now accentuated with new and remodeled buildings dedicated to learning and the acts, thereof. It also has a picturesque bayou and a perennial National Championship-contending men's and women's waterski team. They have many wonderful programs and avenues to study here and a long and bright future. They just have no history here. No. Not anymore.
