Thrift Stores in Monroe, LA

“At one time I made frequent trips to Rolling Hills to find affordable furniture for myself and others. That is when I had the leisure of time. Now, I go when I can. Always enjoy browsing around the store. Well organized. Neat. Clean (including the restroom/dressing room.) Usual thrift store finds: Furniture. Books. Housewares. Accessories. Clothing. In fact the store is filled with what I call comfort clothing! T-shirts. Jeans. Cozy jackets. For all ages! A good place for students or creative stylists to find just the right piece of clothing at just the right price.

But I've also observed that the store often has items that have been donated in bulk by a wholesaler or retailer. These are usually near the front of the store and range from personal care products to household helpers, like those Swiffer mops I saw on my last visit. The prices are extremely low and while the product is in perfect condition, the packaging may be torn or missing. But who cares about packaging you are going to throw away anyway

Now, in addition to all of the above benefits offered by Rolling Hills Ministry , I support them and give them a five star rating for an additional reason. I have seen what they do for people. I have seen them allow a mother and child displaced by a home fire come into the store to begin the process of trying to put a household back together. I have also seen them loading up trucks and trailers to go help communities devastated by natural disaster. The precision with which they work is amazing and the commitment evident. Fighting back tears, even as I write this years later.

I've visited three of RHM's several sites: Arcadia. Monroe. Ruston. And what I've observed has been consistent. I understand they have other sites in Bossier, Natchitoches, Pineville, and West Monroe, with a special Bookstore location in Ruston.

Thrifting! Saving money while helping others. A perfect combination! RHM. A great place to thrift!”

“The sizes were all mixed up -- in the 6 aisle, there was a mix of everything from 2T to 10/12 -- so it did kinda make it a little harder to shop. BUT we managed to find some great pieces. Walked out having paid just under $40 for seven or eight things, AND I found one of the jackets we bought here (which still looked new) online for $45. So, I'd say it was definitely worth it. ?”
