I called to make an appointment and was told that they had a new computer system but they would have my paper files. They never told me that this was not Dillingham Optical anymore. I confirmed with the person that I talked on the phone if they still took my insurance and was told that they did. I arrived at my appointment time and notice on the door it said look eyecare but Dillingham Optical was still on a huge sign on building. I checked in and sign some paperwork and confirmed again that they took my insurance and was assured that they did. I wait about 25 minutes and the front desk lady came over to me and said that there will be $125 contact exam charge. I said my insurance pays for that and she said that the doctor has the right to still charge a fee. Needless to say, I said okay and left and rode down the street to 20/20 and they made me an appointment right then and there and I was able to get my contact and exam at no charge per my insurance. If you making an appointment here thinking it's the Dillingham Optical , keep in mind it is NOT.

It was the worst. I hadn't been in a year. So I was expecting things to be the same. I was wrong. I had some questions about the price increase for my copay and the price of my contacts. The receptionist was very nice in answering my questions. Until a man came out the back and said if I didn't want to pay I can cancel my appointment. All because I was asking questions about the price increase. He was very rude and insulting. So I canceled my appointment and went somewhere else

March 28, 2023 @ 1:50pm. The customer service here is horrible and rude! You can't walk in and shop eyeglass styles. We were told to sit down and wait. An unwelcoming lady approached us and required us to show a prescription. We both are already plainly wear eyeglasses. Save your time shop else where.

Don't go to Dillingham's in Monroe since Mr. Dillingham sold the business to someone that is very RUDE, CRUDE, AND SOCIALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! They don't want you to look at the frames until someone calls you. I have gone to Dillingham's for years and NEVER been treated so badly!! I will go to Haik, Humble in West Monroe where the people are very nice and friendly. I hope Dillingham Optical goes out of business!!

I went recently and the customer service is very poor. You will feel rushed and when you look for glasses there is someone standing on your heels to rush you. Front desk staff seemed as though you were bothering them. I don't see how this place is still functional especially with many others saying the same thing. Don't waste your money going here.

Went there yesterday to get new glasses and the service was very good. 1812 Roselawn Monroe has new Manager & new equipment. Also, they accept all Medicaid.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Dillingham Optical a few days ago. I have been a patient and customer there for years. I didn’t realize the business was sold a few months back, but it soon became very clear to me that everything has changed in the practice. Dr. Christine Davis (who has an Eye Clinic in Shreveport as well) conducted my eye exam very quickly then sent me out to pay for the visit. When I was told what I owed (more than triple what I’ve paid there for the exact same yearly exam and contacts), I questioned the exorbitant amount. Brittany, the woman checking me out, and Dr. Davis were appalled that I dared to question them at all! I paid my $10 co-pay but held off on the remaining $160 amount until I spoke to my Vision insurance company. Because I wouldn’t pay in full and expressed my disappointment in the high charges, I was told that I could not get my contact lens prescription and that I had to leave and not return. The doctor never would come out to speak to me about my concerns. She just had Brittany deal with me.The entire staff was unprofessional and did not seem to know what they were doing. They also told me that all patient records of the previous owners were stored somewhere else now and new records had to be created. I found that to be very strange. My advice to anyone is do NOT make an appointment with this practice for any reason. What used to be a successful and well run establishment is no longer there. I will never darken their door step again.

This was our first visit and it will be our last. My daughter went there and they called me to verify that she could purchase contacts. I asked if she wanted glasses and the lady told me she will call me back with a price. Well, she never did, she just charged my card. My daughter didn't really like the glasses and only got them because the lady told her I said for her to get them, which I did not. I called as soon as she left to cancel the order, they took my number and said they will call me back. Of course, they did not. When I called back, they said they would not cancel the order. I have never done business with anyone as rude and unprofessional in my life. I hope they enjoy that $446, it will be the last penny they get from me.

Well the Dillingham era has ended. Been a long time customer of Dillinghams. It appears that the new owners have a different market strategy. Needed new lenses for some frames that I like that were sold to me by Ben. First of all their business hours are ridiculous. To be close during lunch is ridiculous most working people use their lunch to get or pick up their glasses. On my situation after filling out paperwork they preceded to tell me that I had a expired prescription. Which I knew was incorrect! Instead of offering to call my physician to discuss my prescription they tried to get me to change over to their doctors. Which is not going to happen! Because I am comfortable with who I have. After calling my physician they advised me that I had a current prescription. So instead of getting a current prescription and allowing them to order some new lenses. I went to their competition. Never will I go back!
