In a place where you're so nervous and anxious about taking your proctored exam, Prometric of Metairie is mastered in easing your mind and making you feel comfortable and know the rules before going in. The older woman that worked the early morning shift, I forgot her name, was so kind. She could tell I was anxious and nervous, and she was very calm and collective and made my nerves go down and feel more comfortable going into the exam. She was also very transparent when it came to the rules and regulations. If I ever have to take a proctored exam again, 1000% I will take it at the Prometric in Metairie!

I came ready and prepared to take my test. To be honest I felt it in my gut something was wrong. The instructor was basically intoxicated. She basically let it be known when she almost fell over her own steps. She said out her own mouth " you guys I'm not drunk" like who says that. I didn't pass because she said I made a mistake on my clinical but to be honest, she made some too. I will not recommend taking a test here because from what I was told two go in and only one passes. I seen it with my own eyes yesterday and it was true. I was not the only one didn't pass. I may have may a few mistakes but after she went over my test with me, I noticed she made it look like I didn't get nothing right because of one big mistake she say. I will be retesting but not there again.

Coming in here, I was hesitant based on the reviews. However, the staff could not have been more thorough or friendly! It was a much better experience than I thought it would be.

A week and a half after hurricane Ida hit…after jumping through many hoops and being on hold more than 20 minutes, they assured me the exam will take place as planned in 2 days. I just drove past the testing center and the building still has no power. They’re completely unprepared to notify examinees in the case of unexpected closure. It would appear that the corporate branch has no idea that their Louisiana Prometric center is closed. This is a big deal to me.*update* I got an email the day before my exam that my exam was rescheduled. They never contacted me to schedule a place and date that was good for me. The email said I could reschedule myself on time for free, but they hung up on me by the time I got to talk to someone from Prometric. It was and still is a very unpleasant experience with Prometric. I’m still waiting to hear back on how I can get a refund for the $37 I was forced to pay to reschedule the exam. *update* corporate is not going to reimburse the $37 I was forced to pay. I tried calling and they hung up in my ear after I explained what was going on. I filed a ticket, which went no where.Side note. I’ve had good experiences at this particular testing center in the past.*updated update 8 months later* They never even humored me for my refund. Really frustrating

The worst of the worst testing centers in the whole universe. I give them - 1000 stars. Everything I had there on the day of the test was wrong followed by another wrong. I waited for long until the lady who works there came from inside to see who at the office waiting!! Actually one of the test takers called on her as she saw me waiting for long. Then she checked me as I’m walking into the White House! And she asked me for my passport!! WT* !!!! I had to drive for more than an hour to get it. And after I have done testing, and reported my praxis scores I got a result that my scores were canceled!!!!!! OMG ? HOW LOUD CAN I SCREAM OUT !! I’m VERY UPSET. THE WORDT EXPERIENCE IN MY EDUCATIONAL LIFE. Everything there is confusing, the parking lot, the toilet that you need a key to open it and their rigid rules. I will never ever go there again even if it’s the last testing center on Earth.

I was not contacted that the center would be closed due to weather. I still showed up for my scheduled appointment as I was not contacted and the status of the Prometric center on the website was still listed as 'active'. Only plus is free parking.

Parking garage is just behind the building, visitors park on floor four (no parking ticket, it is free). Entrance to the testing center is to the right as soon as you go in through the doors next to the testing center. All of the workers there (three on a Monday) were very friendly. Clean inside. My daughter was taking the test, so I was just hanging out in the lobby.

I have taken several tests here. Friendly enough employees, very quiet to make test taking easier. Clean inside, plenty of parking.

Taking your standardized test of choice in New Orleans is not the worst thing. Mind you, the facility isn't great; noise bleeds from the neighboring freeway that even the headphones don't entirely keep out. It's thus a drivable location, but not remotely transit-accessible. The surrounding neighborhood is not the most exciting place to be during your lunch break. I was initially seated at a computer with a keyboard that didn't function. You'd think I'd have rated the place lower given all this. I must say though, that I got as much New Orleans hospitality in this testing center out in Metairie as I get in the French Quarter. Several people were working there, and all knew what was going on and were very quick to help with every little concern. During a high-pressure time when one is concerned not just about the content of a test but about any procedural issues surrounding it, the staff here inspired more confidence than at other places I've been. So while I've certainly seen nicer buildings in which to take a test and I'm sure I'll be traveling to bigger cities in the future for some of mine, I would say that this place is not bad.

Tests are anxiety provoking. Tests are meant to test you. I dislike tests wayyyyy more than the next guy, but if I had to choose where to take a test in the New Orleans area, I'd choose Prometric! I went to Prometric on Edenborn Avenue for a two-day test - and before anyone asks, yes, it was a long, exhausting, kill-me-now type of two-day test. When I pulled into the location, I was extremely nervous, but the ease of parking (They have their very own parking garage, with FREE parking) helped calm my nerves. The test center is very easy to locate, as once you're in the building, it's the first door immediately to your right! Inside, I was greeted quite warmly by "Doreen" (I think that was her name). She has a great personality, a foreign accent, and really knows how to ease test takers nerves. She explained everything I needed to know, told me where the bathrooms were, and reminded me of the important things to know, so that I don't disqualify myself from the exam I was about to take. The center has two examination rooms, but I only was in one of them. The security was top-notch, this test center is equipped with fingerprint scanning as a way to confirm your identity, they also have metal detector rods, which are cool. One area for improvement is that to go to the bathroom, you have to take a bathroom key, which I forgot to grab sometimes on my scheduled breaks... I think they should just keep the bathrooms unlocked, but maybe there are security reasons for this. I don't know how my test went, but know that my stress levels were kept in check, if not reduced, while at Prometric. For that, I am thankful!
