This review is not directed towards the Metairie branch but Fidelity as a banking institution. I currently have my mortgage loan through Fidelity and this bank has the most antiquated technology. First off if you don’t have a personal account with Fidelity you can not do online bill pay. What year is this Fidelity? It’s 2021 get with the program and invest in a could IT system that will allow your customers regardless of who their personal accounts are with to pay online without issues. My first mortgage was through Wells Fargo and I had zero problems paying online with my capital one checking account. Secondly, you all send mortgage statements out a week before they are due. That is absurd, again that is antiquated. I’ve never received any kind of billing statement from any institution a week before the payment is due. I honestly wish this bank would have sold my loan to more technology friendly bank with better payment options. Like online for everyone not just who has personal accounts with this bank. As someone who works for a major telecommunications company for the last 16 years this bank needs to step of their game and come into the year 2021. Now with southeast Louisiana dealing with the worst natural disaster since Katrina I can’t pay my mortgage online because I don’t have a checking or savings account. This is completely unacceptable.

This review is pertaining to the Fidelity Bank location on Veterans near Cleary only. I went in to deposit two checks. The teller Julia Adams made it feel like me as a customer was bothering her by asking for a pen that wasn't offered to fill in the deposit slip. She then told me they were not allowed to add the total of the two checks, but she could do it this one time. I was with my mom that's worked for a bank for most of my life and she said to me, that doesn't seem right, so she asked Julia yall aren't allowed to use the adding machine? Julia looked away. I asked for a manager then Julia said he was on vacation. My mom asked for an officer banker. We waited and was assisted by Ms. Michelle May, a multi service banker. She completed the transaction with no issue and apologized to us for being given incorrect information. Ms. May stated that tellers are allowed to add up checks on a deposit slip and she doesn't know why the teller told us that. Julia, the original teller, was training someone that had been there less than a week. I then stated to Ms. May, maybe this should be addressed in an employee meeting so this wrong information and behavior is not passed along to newer employees of Fidelity Bank. What was meant to be a quick in and out transaction turned into this long and detailed review.

I have been coming here since the late 80s as a kid. The service is fine. The location is good. Why a four star? It is a reflection on all Fidelity Homestead banks...using the ATM for cash deposits never seem to work. Plus, it isn't common for banks to be open on Saturdays so it makes it harder for do business.
