It has taken me a little bit longer to write this overdue review because I was grieving the loss of my Ginger. Lake Area Animal Hospital was a blessing to me as to why my cat was so sick. I had taken her to a few other vet clinics with no actual answers but added medications. I just wanted answers to what was wrong with her. Even though the drive was over an hour from my home I didn't mind. From the moment I called to get Ginger in, until I left with my heart broken I had the best experience here. My heart broken because the news of my cat not being able to survive was devastating. But finally, I received answers. A few days later I received a card from this hospital with uplifting words from everyone. I cried and so full of emotions but thought this was such a caring thing to do. Thank you so much Dr. Hicks and everyone! Your hospital is where I want to continue to bring my little furbabies! Blessings to you all for what you do for families!

On March 14-17 2024, we left our dog for boarding ( 4 days ) and provided our own food (individual containers) to be given to our dog. The day we picked up our dog at the hospital we were told that everything was fine. We went home and noticed our dog was slow and weak... and when we looked at the bag, the food was pretty much intact and only one container was empty. Immediately called the hospital and they mentioned that dog ate the first day but not the remaining 3 days. We did not receive a call during these 3 days not to mention that additional food was not offered to our dog as discuss with hospital personnel during the call. We are disappointed with the boarding service provided and hoping it will improve.

Can't tell me how to give kitty cpr over the phone. Need me to come in from over 30mins away (with a kitten who's heart is beating 1 beat every 30 seconds) so they can do it....and not for free I'm sure. Thanks for caring about the bottom line more than lives. Hes dead now died in my hands while I'm crying on the phone to yall. Thanks for all the "help".

I had been going to Dr. Starks for close to 10yrs. I called recently for a quote on hw treatment and was quoted one price but charged almost 3x the price. When I asked for a resolution- I got a letter telling me my business could be taken elsewhere. I have NEVER dealt with such unprofessional people, I couldn't even get the owner to talk with me...thats saying alot right there!!!

I can't say enough good things about Lake Area Animal Hospital. Zeke has been going there for all of his eight years of life and will hopefully go for another eight years. We didn't know if we would stay when Dr. Stark retired, but stuck it out and we're glad we did. Not only are Dr. Houston and Dr. Briscoe caring and compassionate to our dog and us, but all of the girls working there are awesome to Zeke. They all know him by name. He was recently really sick and we thought he was going to have to be put him down. Not only did the doctors not give up on Zeke, I think it was just a big challenge to get him healthy. They have diagnosed him with Addison's Disease and he is now way better. He's energetic and has gained the two pounds he had lost. My wife and I are truly grateful to them for their hard work, because now we can hopefully enjoy Zeke for several more years.
