I went with the Millionaire Cold Brew, they added chocolate chips so kinda hard to suck through a straw, however it's fantastic. Yum!

I've had coffee here numerous times because they are attached to a bookstore. The service used to be hit or miss (they cycle a new cashier/barista through every couple of weeks). Lately, however, the service has been downright rude. Last night I took my wife and children to get coffee. Our barista (Ashley) failed to welcome us when we stepped to the counter, instead mumbling "what are the drinks?" (???). She failed to take the order accurately, and failed to ask my young son which candy he wanted in his frappe (she later yelled the question across the room). When we got up to get our coffees (without being prompted), all of us (including the kids) told her "thank you" without reply. Part of her job requires her to ask her customers if they belong to a membership club and if they would like to sign up for magazine subscriptions. I'm fine with that. This cashier asks the questions in a tone that is meant to communicate "I don't want to do this, I'm just going through the paces." What it really says is "I hate my job and I don't want to make a personal connection with my customers." Ashley's attitude is as bitter as a poorly brewed es If you are interested in getting a coffee in Lake Charles, please consider going to a locally owned cafe like Stellar Beans. Even Starbucks, located a few blocks away, can deliver better coffee with a better attitude. Update: Ashley still works here. Her service is as bad as always. Tonight we came to the bookstore and I thought "maybe I'll give her another chance." Mistake. She refuses to acknowledge the customers standing in line if she's making a drink. I walked away.

I go to BAM for the books. Really! My wife and I enjoy browsing our selections while sipping tea in Joe Muggs. Pricing is reasonable considering the competition. My only complaint is the slow service. I'll live with that.
