They collect your information, pretend that you've scheduled a ride, say they'll call you the day before the ride to tell you what time they'll pick you up, DON'T CALL even after you left a message asking about it because they haven't called. They get your hopes up that you have finally found a good transportation option just to prove they're liars. A total scam.

So starting out when I first needed help with smiles my first hardship with them is when you try to speak about what’s going on and what you need help with, they try to talk over you before you can even finish getting out what you’re saying. Secondly, they have the worst attitudes on the phone but in person they are very fake-nice. They do look down upon you and they don’t communicate or call back when they say they will. Every single time I have called someone in the line of assistance that I need somehow the call system says the person is always unavailable and can’t come to the phone. sometimes they don’t even take the time to explain how funding works for certain things because they “get so many calls and they’re trying to get to everyone” in my opinion if you’re trying to help someone if you are helping someone and it’s taking a while at least you are doing what your job criteria calls for sitting there telling me a straight no or talking over me is very disrespectful and confuses people because you don’t know if they’re just giving you a blanket statement of no for no reason or if it’s something else. they always paint it like there’s nothing they can do and just leave it at that.

Staff doesn’t COMMUNICATE! They look down on you. I went for crisis and the lady asked for my info and she went inside. She then came out and said you’ll receive a letter with credit amount. My lights ended up turning off I called smile. She said I signed up for liheap and they’re out of funds. I argued how they don’t communicate and I told the lady when my lights cut off. She said sorry it’s nothing we can do.

Good community organizational services that provide people the resources needed if they become unemployed due to unforseen circumstances. They can help get you a twic card, etc.

SMILE is a community action service that can assist people with low income with housing, home repairs, and utilities. There are other things that they help people with but I am not sure of all that do. So if you are in that bracket and need assistance, give them a call.
