It's easy to be upset when things don't go your way. I've trusted Rick's for years so this review is long overdue. Rick's has helped me more then they probably know, my wife, my mom and today my sister. Not everyone handles stress well so when a company like this makes the process smooth and painless it goes a long way. Thank you to the staff and drivers that have always been there for us.

I personally had a horrible experience with this company. Waited for 6 hours after my insurance company contacted them for a tow. Called them twice and felt like excuses were given. Strange experience. Had to end up calling another tow service.

This company is one of the reasons Louisiana pays such high insurance premiums. they are either incompetent or crooks, probably both.Facts:1. my friends family member was killed in a car accident and Rick's was called from the police list to pick up the vehicle.2. when my friends family tried to get access to the vehicle Rick's employees said they needed a power of attorney access the vehicle without the owner. they told the employee that the owner was killed in the accident and the employee said " I know, Im sorry it's the Law".3. in the state of Louisiana ( and in almost every other state) even if you have a power of attorney once the person granting the power of attorney dies the POA is no longer valid. it expires when you do.4. in the above circumstances the car insurance company can give authorization to the family to access the vehicle to collect the family members belongings. My Opinion:1. if this company did not know that the insurance could authorize the family the access ( which we got access the same day we called the insurance by advice from the state troopers office) then they probably shouldn't be on the police list to get these calls.2. i believe they did know this rule and knew that the insurance company was paying the bill so the longer they have the vehicle the more money they can squeeze out of the insurance company because they know its a guaranteed payday for them. the insurance company was waiting for the family to let them know they got everything they needed out of the car so it could have it towed to a salvation yard and Rick's knew this and managed to get over a week of storage paid for for no good reason. And Louisiana residents wonder why we pay high insurance premiums its crooks like this squeezing insurance companies for all they can get that drive up our premiums.3. once my friends family is done grieving i hope they file a complaint, this company should not be on a police call list if they don't know how to handle an accident in which the owner didn't survive.4. put a note in your car of who you want to tow your vehicle if you are in an accident and are not conscious so crooks like this company cant take advantage of the situation. So i have read someone of the other reviews and seen Rick's snarky replies to some of the reviews so lets have it Rick's, explain this situation away or give some snark answer as to how i am wrong that you didn't take advantage of a horrible situation for my friends family.

I was originally quoted 120 something for an under 10 miles tow that got bumped up to 186 when they sent it too the wrong address, I called the lady to let her know she quoted for the wrong address and tried to explain the situation just to be told that my address doesn't exist because she called the police department and asked them, even tho it's 4 blocks down the st. From the PD, then proceeded too tell me that none of its her problem then hungup on me and refused to answer, very unprofessional for a receptionist, named Karen Dugas, seems like a liability personally, but if it wasn't for the driver that helped me get in touch with his boss to fix the problem, Mr Trent, I don't think I'd recommend using, at least unless they replace that receptionist, one bad apple spoils the bunch. I feel the situation could've been fixed alot easier then having to contact the boss, whose taking the weekend for himself and his family. Was told by the driver that I was suppose to be reimbursed for $50 according to the driver from the owner, it was only posted for $20 which I hope is wrong or is a mistake because I know the receptionist makes a percentage per call which I'd hope she's not trying to pocket the other $30, will update further after speaking too the boss personally.Service: Car towing

The Office Manager was very rude I appreciate the other kind individuals. We live in a society where people assume that your relationships with ie the Police Department allow you to become rude to others. Maybe Lafayette Parish should hire companies based on how their contractors treat individuals. This could become small steps in building a relationship between law enforcement and the community it serves.

Called them at 8:30am to pick up my wife’s vehicle and they said they would be 45 mins, so I left work went meet her and 2 hours later, they call and say they are going to be even longer because they took another call. Will never call this company again!!!

I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but I had a negative experience with this business. I had called a week prior to get my car to the dealership, since I wasn't comfortable driving it there. It was $115 in cash/debit, or $120 in credit. I confirmed that I could pay with a debit card in person, that it would be the $115 charge. It was confirmed. The weekend goes by and they blow past the arrival time they'd given me, and after calling *twice*(once a half hour after the latest time they gave me, which was my appointment time, and another time 45 minutes after that), it's been over an hour and a half waiting on a tow truck. I had already missed my appointment at the dealership, but I still wanted it to get there to grab a later appointment. Then I'm charged $120. I know it's only $5, but it's the principle of it all, so I call back and am told that there was a miscommunication, and for cards it's always the credit charge. I was so stressed, I decided not to press the issue any further.TL;DR- 1.5 hours late, missed my appointment, charged a higher price after confirming a lower price. I will not be using this service again.
