Nicole was 30 minutes late and kept trying to sell me products, even after I told her I was happy with my routine. She also brushed (ripped through) my curly hair BONE dry. Ouch. You should always brush curly hair DAMP (not dry or soaking wet) to minimize breakage.Moving on! When I made the appointment, I inquired, verbatim, about a “$20 haircut”. I wasn’t corrected, so i assumed it would be $20, and scheduled my appointment. It ended up being $20 off, so the haircut was actually $54 dollars ($75 before the coupon). I wasn’t able to pay that upfront, which was so embarrassing! I have bad social anxiety, so I didn’t want to argue. She gaslit me into thinking they were in the right. I can’t remember who I spoke to on the phone, they sounded like a guy.The haircut was good though if u can get past all that lol ?.

I am completely upset at the whole process that I went through today. I am getting married in a month and I spoke to someone on the phone made reservations and trail run and for a set price. As I went in today which by the way I drove over 30 mins to get too they tell me a different price and basically wasn't sincere about the mix up at all... I was very upset and discouraged as well... Y'all should have honored the price and quote y'all gave me the first time instead of trying to double charge me when I get there. Very unprofessional and very very discouraging.

I went to this salon two days ago for extensions. The price was quoted ahead of time for what I was having done. When I arrived they had ordered the wrong extensions but said “we will make it right”. They colored the extensions (it’s leopard spotted because they used semi permanent dye) to make them unrecognizable as what I had ordered, “highlighted” my hair to match (it’s now red instead of brow and no highlights)….and after 4 hours almost doubled the price quoted to $1,200!!! Horrible experience and I will never return!! The worst part is that there is nobody to co to to correct the issue as it was the owner Nicole who was responsible for this catastrophe!!

Overall, I would say I am content with the quality of the haircuts I get here but not overly impressed. Sometimes I feel as though my hair stylist doesn't know how to best handle my finer hair and it comes out looking a little flat and weighed down with product. I prefer to part my hair on the side but she often forgets and end up drying it with a middle part. Last time I was in, she was 20min late to my appointment because she ran out to get coffee, and she was 10min late to another one of my appointments. Last time I was in, I mentioned I had a new ear piercing in and to be careful not to bump it or catch it but she ended up doing just that multiple times during the drying process which was painful and bad for healing. Lastly, though I am a regular and generally come in every 8 weeks for a maintenance cut, I find that I have products and upgrades pushed on me every session and I would prefer if there was a little less pressure to buy things/upgrade. I don't mind being introduced to new products but it often feels like I am being coerced or pressured into buying products/adding treatments and I don't particularly appreciate that. It adds stress to the experience for me.That being said, I really enjoy the Aveda experience here-- being offered tea when I come in is so lovely and the shampoo room is so calming! I am especially fond of the plant wall, and generally look forward to my appointments.

Very pleasant experience and Ashleigh did a great job on my hair cut. I highly recommend her to anyone.

ZERO Stars. If I could award negative stars I would. I thought I'd be safe with an Aveda salon but this was a mistake. They turned my hair ORANGE on top and blamed me saying that's what I wanted. They charged me $169.00 and when I asked them to fix it they tried to make me pay $245.00 to re dye my hair. I had to drive 5 hours back to Texas to have my stylist fix it and it still has a red tint. She couldn't even get it out completely without my hair falling out. Additionally, my WEDDING is 1 week away. They knew this coming in and STILL wouldn't help me. The girl that did my wack job also mentioned she sucked at doing color and she prefers just cutting hair. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

The worst experience… and so so unprofessional on the owners part that did my hair, Nicole. I also just keep hearing bad stories from locals as well since this experience. — But I went in with blonde hair, had a consult, Wanted a natural dimensioned dirty blonde, left with black and white tiger stripes. It was awful. She didn’t even finish the job (Nicole the owner) she cut two other people’s hair during my appointment time and then passed me on to her only other worker and left without telling me while her coworker washed and toned my hair. I Immediately started crying cause it was so bad, the color bled into the bleached spots, It was nothing like I asked for and even the coworker was apologizing for how bad it turned out and offering to fix it for free. My hair was porous but it was not my fault and we had a consult and treatment done before hand. Nicole then bleached my hair the next morning to fix it and did the same technique to fix it even though I emphasized I just wanted lighter hair and just didn’t want what happened again. Well she did the same thing over and now my hair is fried and splotchy and made me pay $300 while I was in tears, I was anxious and have never experienced a scenario like this before and insisted I didn’t wanna pay. Just the honest truth and I told her I couldn’t afford it, because I assumed the fix was free since it was her mistake and her coworker said it would be a free fix. And the initial appointment wasn’t even worth that much. she blamed my hair and blamed me and ended up yelling at me infront the salon when I kept demanding my money back days later after being ignored and dismissed. Of course I wanted my money back I never cried so much in my life over hair, and it needs to be fixed! Most unprofessional and ridiculous experience I’ve ever had with a business. She had me convinced she could do the job but she absolutely couldn’t. Putting this review so it doesn’t happen to the next person.Service: Hair colouring

Owner took money, absolutely ruined a girls hair, made her pay for it when the whole salon is watching this scene occur. They are unprofessional and all the hair dressers want is to gossip and take money for services they did not actually do. There are so many wonderful salons around Lafayette, next time I’ll be visiting one of those rather than ever stepping here again! Also, it wouldn’t hurt to sweep up more and not have dust bunnies in your corners.Service: Hairstyling

My husband and I moved to the Lafayette area 4 years ago. I needed an Aveda hair specialist for my needs. Thus began my relationship with Nicole the owner of Mon Reve. Nicole is an excellent hair consultant and owner. Her consults are thorough and she really listens to what I wanted. I never felt rushed or handed off to her other workers. Time management for my appointments have always worked out perfectly. I also have called Nicole at the last minute for a hair appointment and she has met me early, late, and even on her day off. She is awesome! I have also watched her with other clients and she makes each one of them feel extra special! I have personally recommended Nicole and Mon Reve to several of my new friends. She never disappoints! She is a single Mom who owns her own business and I give her high praise for all she has done for me as well as downtown Lafayette businesses! Go see Nicole you won’t be disappointed! ?Services: Hairstyling

The owner, Nicole, is the most unprofessional hairstylist. She ruins people's hair and refuses to give their money back, as well as yell at them in front of her whole salon. So embarrassing and appalling. There's so many other hairstylists and hair salons that WILL do an amazing job on your hair and treat you with respect in Lafayette. Don't go here.

The best full service salon I've been to in Lafayette. Nicole's technique in scalp massage during the wash/rinse feels quite amazing and it's invigorating. A little on the pricey side for a man's haircut, but it's a salon not a barbershop--to be expected. Their selection of products is limited but I found what I needed, because she seems to only stock the most popular products. I see the other 1 star reviews recently and roll my eyes. I happen to be there when Alisa N. claim occurred. I even offered her my seat when she arrived, moved, but she never took the seat. Her and her friend were clearly annoyed. Nicole did take them outside but only because Alisa's friend started to get loud, even though she wasn't involved. Take 1 star reviews with a grain of salt, especially from newbies or people who just posted one review to spite a business.

unprofessional, owner is rude and takes money from people, and will not fix her mistakes when she did not deliver what was promised to her customer. I would recommend my cousin Tony more than this salon

Don’t recommend going here. The owner seems inexperienced cutting hair and dealing with customers.

Awful experience. Left with worse hair than I went in with, Nicole the owner did my hair horribly, messed up, didn’t finish the job and left me with another employee, tried to fix it and damaged it tremendously, and then charged me $300 for the awful hair while I was in tears. When I went back for a refund after being ignored, she made me exit the salon so she could yell at me outside and tell me it was my hairs fault and she wasn’t going to be giving me my money back. I couldn’t believe the way I was treated. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about her and her salon since this experience. I’m just trying to prevent this from continuing to happen to other people. Plenty of other respectful and talented hair dressers in lafayette. I Do not support this business. Truly terrible.
