I have fostered and adopted with this shelter. The workers are beyond compassionate, loving, and so kind. I am always impressed by how deeply the staff cares for and loves these animals.

Well I adopted two kittens took no picture, no free bag food, no offer of a toy for them or collarbone funny when I picked mine a lady adopted a couple kittens she got toys, collars, food, picture, you name it the Bella and whistles. Funny all I got was two kittens and four pieces of paper nice.

An amazing resource right here in Lacombe. They are doing a terrible task with grace and love. It takes a village and I'm proud to be a part of this fight for the animals who can't speak for themselves!

After losing our elderly dog, we decided to visit the animal shelter for our next pet. SOOO glad we did! Within ten minutes of arriving, we were touring the facility. When the staff heard our wish list for a pet, they immediately thought of the perfect dog. We spent some time visiting with her and knew they were right. Because our baby hadn't yet been spayed, we couldn't adopt her on the spot. What did these kind folks do? The vet immediately did her spaying and we got to pick her up that afternoon! Several of the staff came out to say goodbye to her before we left. I promise y'all, Pee Wee will have a wonderful life with us!!!

Ms. Beth was phenomenal! She is absolutely amazing, gave me all the info I needed on how to help my pup and what I could do to limit the costs while getting the most out of his vet procedures. My pups journey is going wonderful all from her doings :)

Adopted my sweet Jasper from this facility. He was an older dog and had heart worms which was treated by the facility until Jasper passed. St Tammany Animal Services was wonderful through it all very compassionate and caring staff. Def recommend and we will be returning when we are ready to add a new fur baby to our home.
We are very happy we were able to give our sweet Jasper a loving home in his final months. We didn’t adopt him, he adopted us ❤️

I wish I could give them 0 stars, but we will go with a 1. First all, they have on their website that they open at 10. When I arrived, the door was locked after 10 am, however, they let another woman in to adopt before 10 am but let me stand outside past opening hours. So, she adopted the pet I wanted. And yes, she came from Washington parish, however, I am a taxpayer on 2 properties in St Tammany so is it fair to not make allowances for your taxpayers since our taxes fund your organization. Also, the racial bias is horrible at this place. If you have a problem with minority races, you should not be in a business serving the public. And to leave me outside the door while allowing her to sit comfortably inside shows the feeling of racial inequality in this place. After this horrible treatment at St Tammany Animal Services, I went and adopted my pet from a rescue organization in Mississippi in which I traveled an hour to get there. They were friendly and not biased. It's a shame when taxpayers get treated horribly by the parish they pay taxes to. Your shelter should be closed down. Most of your animals were sick with upper respiratory infection anyway. Clean your facility and your attitudes. This isn't the 1800s and into the 1960s.

Clean facility, well run and great staff! The shelter was busy when I was there and it was well maintained and staffed during my visit. I picked up one of the dogs for a week trial and have decided to adopt her. The employees made the process easy and seamless. I highly recommend adopting from this wonderful place! They truly care for the animals ! I’ve attached a photo of Hermione!

Called for info and the lady yelled at me as well as refused to give her name. Claimed she wasn’t about to lose her job by making a phone call to verify whether on call officer picked up a three legged dogón last two days. If you care about animal wellbeing, how in the world would this request cause you to lose your job? She was unbelievably rude with a total lack empathy. Went so far as to claim I had called before when this was my first call. Also said she saw my fb post, but I never gave the woman any of my info nor have I personally made a Facebook post. These ppl do not care about animals. Another organization just giving bare minimum effort with little to no compassion and decency. I’m still dumbfounded by someone claiming that contacting someone who’s on call will put their job at risk. If you don’t care about animals and ppl, you need to find a new job…My subsequent interaction with the on-site staff member was much better. Like night and day in comparison with the phone call. The lady I spoke with very courteous & informative about helping me to find my dog. She even spoke with me shortly after their hours and contacted someone to verify my dog wasn’t there. Feeling much better their service and compassion, overall. Upgrading to 3 stars from 1 given initially

I found a dog on the road and brought it to animal control. The receptionist stared at me very ugly when I entered. Her attitude was atrocious and it was disheartening to say the least.
