How can I get a hold of someone at the New Orleans Thrifty rental car location? I rented a vehicle on 11/18/23 and returned it on 11/27/23 and I have yet to receive my final receipt.; my contract is still in an open status as I type this review. I've called the toll free number numerous times and each time I'm told a closeout request has been sent to the location. This is beyond frustrating and concerning as I have no way to directly contact this location. I am at the mercy of the representatives via the customer service number. I may have to have a family member from Louisiana to go onsite on my behalf. Last resort would be taking a flight to New Orleans from DC which would be ridiculous. The morning I returned the vehicle there was a long line that extended outside of the garage. Eventually, they made space in the garage to allow people to park and leave the cars. Clearly, Thrifty was unprepared for the influx of cars being returned. Had I known 3 days later I would still be on the hook for a car that's no longer in my possession, I would have taken the chance of missing my flight and waited/verified the vehicle was checked in and my contract closed out. I need someone from Thrifty to fix this ASAP!

We waited for almost 4 hours in the lobby that has no seats or food or ANYTHING. I had already reserved & paid for the rental in advance so I was kinda stuck. Plus I’d been on an airplane for 8 hours so I was just tired & hungry and not wanting to spend my vacation stuck sitting in the floor w/all my luggage for hours in the middle of the airport car rental in a city I’d never been to ??

Quite possibly one of the worst rental car experiences of my life. Had my car reserved for 3 weeks, completed the online check-in prior to departing my flight, and upon arrival was immediately told "it's a two hour wait"- no greeting, no hello, just an eye roll and the above. Upon my inquiry about the wait, I was informed "they are short staffed in the wash bay". I was told it was non-refundable rental and had no option to go to another company without forfeiting the full reservation. It's now 2 hours and when I asked for an update- I was told "it will be as long as it takes" and the 'customer service representative' (used to extremely loosely) immediately went back to their phone. If you can avoid this Thrifty location- you should do so at all cost.*Update: After 4 hours- they finally told me to go to the Hertz booth upstairs to speak to the manager. I immediately got a car after I went upstairs.

Made a reservation with Priceline months in advance. Showed up at the reservation time - waited an hour in line, then was told it would be another hour for a car as they had no rentals. According to the other renal services here, this happens all the time with Thrifty. We ended up waiting 3 hours.Called Priceline who told me to call thrifty. Who then told me to call Priceline.Front desk person laughed at a customer who asked if they would pay for a rental from another company since they had no cars.Made me never want to rent a car again.

Booked a Reservation, when we arrived they had no cars with a 2 hour wait. They even made it a hassle to cancel without being charged. Next time I’m going straight to Budget. They were friendly, helpful & HAD CARS!!!

Was here for 3 hours! An hour waiting to be helped, then 2 hours waiting for a car that was reserved ahead of time. Could have gotten a car immediately for a 250 dollar up charge. The worst. The service people were friendly, but the experience was horrible.

Arrived at Thrifty on October 13, 2023 and had a reservation CONFIRMED more than 3 months ago and ended up waiting more than 7hrs for a vehicle to be available!!! My family and I were only in town for the weekend and we had a very tight schedule. The 7 hour delay considerably affected our itinerary. The Thrifty representative even had an attitude when I would ask how much longer will we have to wait for a vehicle. We arrived before 10am and FINALLY left with a vehicle after 5pm! When I reached out to customer service to complain about the awful service and see what options were available for compensating us for the inconvenience and immense frustrations, I was told that since I finally did receive a vehicle there was nothing that they could do. ARE YOU SERIOUS???? This is no way to treat customers. I would rather pay more to a competitor than to receive this type of service. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, spend another cent to support Thrifty car rental or any of their affiliates EVER again. They are awfully horrible and don't take responsibility for their own mismanagement. They won't even engage in a conversations to compensate customers for their inconvenience. Time is valuable element we can never get back. I did not want to spend over 7 hours waiting on a vehicle that my family and I reserved over 3 months ago. The fact that Thrifty is unwilling to compensate us for at least a portion of the rental after what we experienced in just unconscionable!!!!Beware!!! You've been WARNED!!!!UPDATE:I received a response (below) from Thrifty after posting my experience. Although I appreciate the reply, I'm hard pressed to believe that it is authentic and sincere. Did a human actually read the post or do you all have an algorithm set up to reply to complaints? After reading through the other posts, I quickly realized that the response I received was eerily similar to most of the others. So please spare me with your fake concerns. You all had the opportunity to address the situation when I tried to engage with you all earlier. Now after my post, you all want to seem like you are concerned about my awful experience?BYE FELICIA!!!!!!!!I would appreciate it IMMENSELY if you all do not respond or contact me about my experience again UNLESS it's genuine and about discussing a refund regarding my terrible and GOD awful experience.

Arriving at the counter I was welcomed by a representative who was speaking in her phone through unseen earphones for all over the time!No proper explanation for the insurance options, no kindness what so ever. She knew I was heading a long trip and that the car should be returned in Atlanta and even though she gave me the worst, old, smoke-smell car I got in my life. It is unbelievable that such a car still exist!!!! There was an old CD player! No connection to my phone, or anything. Steering wheel shaking, horrible motor noise. After coming back they replaced it. But it was a waste of time. Very bad, not USA typical

Made my reservation over 3 months ago. Had it set for 11 am. After standing in line for over 2 hours they tell me that itll be another 2 hrs before the car is ready. So my 11 am turned into 3pm. I had a wedding to go to. Had to call the groom to come pick me up. The bride had their car so SHE had to stop what she was doing so they could pick me up from the airport. Ill never use them again.Update: Because I didn't have a rental car, it cost me $60 to Lyft back to the airport to make it home on time to get to work this morning. So my credit card got hit for $200 for a deposit on a car I never got, and I had the cost of a Lyft which I made a car reservation to avoid in the first place.

If I could give a negative review I would. I will never rent from Thrifty willingly again. Prepaid car, had to wait an hour in line to get to counter only to be told cars not available and they were not sure when one would be. I booked this car weeks ago. I had to leave as I was late to my appt in the city. Ended up paying for an Uber and I have no car.

Currently at thrifty been waiting 1.5 hours at time of speaking. This is a car we booked 2 months ago. After waiting in line for more than an hour we got to the front desk who sorted our paperwork and now we are waiting for a car expected wait of another 1 hour they said. Based on other reviews looks like this happened often

Ditto to all the reviews here. I'm surprised this place is still in business wow. Horrendous! They had way more people than they had cars and I was told "the car doesn't have your name on it". Horrible.

We are traveling here for a wedding and reserved a car about 2 months ago. We get here and they tell us they have no cars and they have had no cars since 11:00am. We RESERVED a specific car and they gave it away. We waited in a 30 minute line to get our RESERVED car and were told they have no cars and there is nothing they can do about it. Never again will I use this rental company.

Worst service EVER!! Waited in line 1 hour 45 minutes. 2 people working taking their time talking to anyone and everyone else not focusing on their job. We had a reservation where we reserved a TIME online. What is the purpose of stating a time when they have no cars available?? The clerk rudely said she does not go fast because what is the point when there are no cars available and only for people to be sitting around waiting? Well it’s better than standing in line for almost 2 hours with no explanation. They either don’t have the cars or they are being cleaned. So now after waiting that long in the ridiculous line we encounter a very rude clerk and have to wait an additional time for a car to be in! Are you kidding me? What is a reservation for? That customer service rep at New Orleans airport was the rudest pathetic worker ever encountered. What a joke Thrifty and dollar car rental are. DO NOT ever rent from Thrifty or dollar!!! You will be waiting for 3 hours for your reserved car!
