Updating my review to a 5 star. I am used to accounts in the movie industry who handle one business at a time. I realize now that Bill is a diamond in the ruff for public tax prep. Jackson Hewitt is beyond fortunate to have him. Please be patient with Bill because the amount of skill and impeccability he puts into every return is above and beyond and it takes time. I am amazed at how many people he works with and still keeps his quality of work impeccable.

Awful. After they charged closed to $500 for preparing my mom's taxes, she got a notice from the IRS that she owed more taxes. We submitted the IRS letter to Jackson Hewitt so that they can respond. The deadline for responding is Nov. 11, 2017. I called them today to check on status, expecting to hear that everything was taken care of or will be by the due date. First they tried to tell me that they did not receive the paperwork from us and have been trying to contact us. Both FALSE. I uploaded the paperwork to their website over 3 weeks ago and they confirmed that they received the paperwork. Also, NOBODY has tried to contact us. As it turns out, the person working on the case, Valerie, is currently on vacation and the paperwork will not be done by Nov. 11. I have been on the phone with the IRS now for 30 minutes trying to get an extension. Nov. 30, 2017 I called on Tuesday and again today to get an update. Valerie had "just stepped out" when I called on Tuesday and was going to call me back on Wednesday. She did not call. I called today and was told that Valerie has "just stepped out". Again. When I insisted on getting an update, I was told that yes they did get my paperwork but were unable to open the documents. When I asked why nobody had contacted to inform me of this, they said that they did not have an answer and did not even apologize. The woman I was talking to hung-up. When I called back, I got Patti on the phone. She was helpful and asked me to re-upload the documents. I did. She is trying to work on this now. If this is not resolved soon, I plan to report the company to BBB and to any other organizations that are interested because they seem to have a VERY unprofessional setup in terms of both the work they do and the way that their employees behave.

They charge based on how much money you get back, and they know what they're doing. They increased my return from $800 to $2200 in under an hour! The location isn't pretty--a cubicle in a Walmart near the liquor section--but the service can't be beat.
