Don't Bring Your Vehicle there. The reason being I got caught Charlie the owner in so many lies. I decided to stop doing buisness with them.I ask you, would you do buisness with someone who lies and change's stories everytime he speaks.Of course not. Here is my story. I purchase a rebuild transmission from them and it failed in warranty. I brought the vehilce back to them and Charlie the owner confirmed that the trramsmssion failed and needs to be replace. Also telling me he will contact the warranty company ( Transstar Industries) to have it repleace. For a whole week he made excuses as why he could not get approval. After about a week he gave me this reason which was Transstar Industries computers where having issues and that's why he couldnn't get approval to have it replace. I immedatelity contacted Transstar Industries and spoke to Scott Hopkins the reginal manager and asked him if they were having computer problems, he responded no. I preceeded to explain him the issue I was having with Amer Trans/ Charlie and he advise me that he would have Micheal the sales rep to contact Charlie and see whats going on with the warranty. Come to find out Charlie did not make any attempts to submint a warranty claim or attempted to call them, per Micheal and Scoot fron Transstar Industries. I was also told by Scott the Micheak offed to creat a claim but Charlie stated he would do it. I then recieved a phone call from Charlie stating the new transmssion was on its way. The next day I went to speak to Charlie and he changes his story again saying he is still waiting to hear from Transstar Industies. So thats when I decided the best thing to do is to find someone else. I cann't do buisness with liars.

If I could give this shop negative stars I would Charlie mosby is not professional is very argumentative and does not own up to his blunders. The transmission was slipping within 6 no this oof rebuild and I kept asking him to look at it, I blew my rear gear because it slipped and all the torque grabbed at once over and over and stripped it. He held my van for 3 weeks when it was supposed to be days only to find out I first needed to fix the gear. I brought the truck after gear was fixed still slipping hard. He delayed me for months untill I was passed the one year warranty and now I lost 3rd and 4th ear and he says I need to pay parts, he has had my vehicle another three weeks. My rental expenses exceed the cost of a new transmission and argues instead of taking responsibility unbelievable. I still don't have my vehicle.

Just experience a nightmarish clutch repair on my Ford Fiesta at this shop. The car went in on a Saturday morning and my expectations was I would get it back by close of business the following Friday. Maybe that’s on me but I did not get it back until Saturday after the next. Two weeks later on a clutch replacement. By the end of the first week I was told that their distributor quoted and sent them the wrong part. They were shipping the correct one and would have it in 3 days. FYI shop owner (more on him later) you and your distributor are the subject matter experts. I should not bear the mistake of waiting 3 days while the new part is shipped ground. Whoever was at fault should have absorbed the cost of shipping the part next day air. Next I’m told UPS failed and it would be arriving another day late. Was told don’t worry I will be driving for the weekend. Did not hear from the shop that Friday so went over around 6:00pm and was told they are working late on it but it will be finish early on Saturday. Told the car requires a special oil that has to be purchased from Ford in the morning. Why is that being done on Saturday morning? I’m an electrical maintenance planner responsible for work execution of our technicians. It is my job to ensure the techs have all the resources needed to perform their jobs. This company failed in every phase that I’m accustom to working in.

If you need transmission repair and actually need your vehicle back in a reasonable amount of time, or in the First, Second, or THIRD time it's promised to you that it will be ready, DO NOT GO HERE!! My husband was in New Orleans and started to have car trouble. Car wouldn't go into gear. Saw that this shop was open on weekends (It was Saturday) and thought this would be a good thing. Figured they could start & finish work faster. Well, turns out that this was false advertising. They WERE NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS! The husband called as the car was loaded to tow, and was told to call when he got close, so the guy could come and open so the car could go inside. Appears the owner lives close by, and runs in when this type of thing happens, opens for car, and then locks back up. Initially we were told the car would not be ready as promised because the wrong part had been ordered. Then, no go excuse - just not ready on the second date it should have been ready. Then after continued calling, we were told it should finally be completed and they would drive it and call us back. We get the call, head to pick it up in New Orleans to find that it now WILL NOT START!!! Mechanic went on to tell my husband that "The cold weather will drain batteries" and continued to try clumsily how batteries work. Finally husband explained to him that he was well aware of how battery's work. (Also mind you, the temp has not been lower than high 50's with highs in the 70's!!) So, we're told they will charge the battery and call us. We wait in the city for a few hours, get a call "Hey, we're about to close. Car started. Not sure if it will start when you get here." Yep! That's what he said! So, we get there, shop is of course Closed! And yes you guessed it - CAR WILL NOT START!! We had to go buy a new battery & buy tools, return to the shop, remove the old battery, and replace with new one. With a Flashlight! It would have been much better just to have been told the truth, car won't start and you'll need a new battery. But, it appears honesty is not a strong suit here. I'll admit, once the car started, it worked well. But Lord knows it wasn't worth all of the delays and hassle. So, moral of the story: If you can go someplace else, Do That!!
