The care was good. The patient bathrooms however are disgraceful. They have no electric outlets, no heat, and no ventilation. My bathroom was filthy. Feces caked on the walls and badly in need of pressure washing.

I was brought here from a nearby mental health facility after reporting pelvic pain to one of the nurses or therapists there. I was also approaching 6 months of pregnancy. I didn't really think much of the pain I was having. It was bearable, didn't make me think of contractions, and I really chalked it up to extreme anxiety because the facility was horrible. But, understandably, the facility didn't want to take a risk, so they sent me to Ochsner to be checked out by labor and delivery. The staff quickly found out that I was experiencing contractions, likely from dehydration since I was too stressed to get water at the behavioral health facility. Everyone was very good about keeping myself and my husband informed about the condition. I was put on a magnesium IV, saw a very friendly OB, Dr. Vuong, several times, and was provided information about what to expect if the baby is premature by the premie specialist.Since I was there from a psychiatric hold, I had to have a sitter in the room at all times. They were very sweet ladies who chatted with me and treated me like a person, rather than like a psych case.Nurse Tina is an absolute angel. She worked hard to help make contact with my psychiatrist and Ochsner's remote psychiatrist to see if I could be released to a different mental health facility or even to go home after I completed treatment at Ochsner - contractions stopped, and baby was fine! - so that I could be in a less stressful environment which was obviously recommended following my condition. Thanks to her and another lady I didn't get to meet (don't know her name, just know my psychiatrist mentioned another lady she spoke to), I was able to discharge home and relax there. Thanks especially nurse Tina. Nick, baby Lily, and I appreciate you. All of the staff we interacted with were great though.

They’re not the worst. Also not the bestAlso not the best. You’ll probably spent more time in waiting room than actually being seen by a doctor.I’ve spent an entire evening in the ER just to be misdiagnosed, prescribed aspirin and sent home. Went to a different hospital and they found the real issue and were able to perform necessary lifesaving surgery.Every hospital has its flaws. This has been my primary hospital primarily due to location/convenience. If there were another option with good standing i’d definitely make a switch and give a try

I have sickle cell and I’m in the ER. The nurse told me I’ll be getting medication shortly it has now been 4 hours. I’ve pressed the button only to get ignored and told that they’ll be back shortly only for them to never come back. When I press the button I’ve watched nurses walk past the room without even checking to see what was going on. I’ve been told that I’m getting one medication and I end up getting something completely different. The communication is awful and I have to press the nurse button 6-7 times just to get medication.

Rude during difficult time of dying family member and would not make exception for 5 family to be in room. Head Nurse Emily (would not provide last name) and Security Guard Robert Robert's insensitive and we were told "that is policy". Patient Advocate was helpful in assisting entrance into hospital following 40 minute wait for child to enter though day before this was not an issue. Nurse Rick was very helpful and sensitive but Director of Nursing and other staff members should look into a different profession. I am a Nurse and would never treat family of dying patient in this manner.

Would not make exception for 5 family members into room when my father was dying. Rude and insensitive during trying time.

With all do respect to the weekend shift in the third floor y'all were great to us. But unfortunately we didn't meet until we had to deal with the garbage that worked the rest of the shifts. I dont have to go off threaten to be transferred to be treated right. It to long of a story to even explain. But if im dying i wont come to this hospital if it was the last one available for me.

Nurse was rude. She wasted the IV fluids on me so I asked her for a napkin and she responded that it was just water. They’re so convinced that everyone just wants pain meds that they didn’t actually help he at all. I’m leaving feeling the same way I felt when I came. A complete waste of time.

We arrived at the Ochsner on Bellchase Gretna at 2:10 am. No one waiting in the emergency area doing sign or registration area but the two nurses, 3:05 am and it took 49 minutes before we was seen by someone in registration in the emergency room area. It’s 3:45 am and we still waiting to be seen. My daughter has sickle cell, seven months pregnant and in a lot of pain crisis. It’s 4:10 now and we still waiting to be calling to the back to see a doctor. There isn’t anyone in the emergency waiting. I can’t believe it’s taking so long to be seen by a doctor in an emergency doing a very medical emergency.04-29-2023 4:15amWe just now going to the back room emergency area. This room does not look safe or clean not sure what going with this room. Don’t fell safe in here!

This is a really nice hospital...my first time here and it didn't feel like a hospital. It had a very French quarter vibe, the pictures on the wall were beautiful, you can smell the aromatic PJ'S coffee in the air and every one was smiling. This place did not have a somber atmosphere like some hospitals do. ?

My wife and I just returned home with our toddler after visiting this hospital. We waited for 4 hours total then was told that we would have to wait another hour to receive our sons results. There were Doctors sitting around socializing and relaxing while patients were in need. After waiting with our child patiently my wife walked to the counter to ask when we should anticipate receiving care for our child. The assistant replied the Doctor is busy and will come down. After an additional 25 minutes the doctor Lauren E Harrell, MD. arrived. My Patient wife expressed our parental concerns due to traumatic delay is service. Honestly, all we desired was to be valued and treated with respect. As my wife continued socializing with the MD and some stranger who just came in as apart of IDK... Lauren E Harrell, MD. STATED WITH A RUDE VERBAL DELIVERY " So wait did you want to deny treatment today?" this comment was extremely offensive due to my family and I waiting for hours to receive service. I felt that our situation wasn't valued. I felt disrespected and pushed aside. I can't speak for anyone else however, my family will NEVER step foot in this unprofessional stumbling block of an ER.Sincerely,Mr. SavoyGod Bless
