It's a very nice Asian supermarket. It has a lot of things you can't find anywhere in the city. I really love the fresh veggies they have. They are not expensive there

Great selection but be careful at check out. The prices on the shelf tags are often old and lower than the price you're charged at the register. They don't do price adjustments for their errors.

Nestled off Behrman Hwy, Hong Kong Food Market is a treasure trove for Asian cuisine enthusiasts. While it excels in providing a wide range of fresh ingredients, there are a few aspects that warrant consideration.A Culinary Wonderland for Asian Recipes:For those seeking authentic Asian ingredients, Hong Kong Food Market is a haven. Their selection of fresh meat, fish, and the pork department is impeccable, making it a go-to spot for crafting delectable Asian dishes at home. The Irresistible Bánh Mì Bread Deal:A standout feature is the Bánh Mì bread, offered at an unbeatable 3 for $1. It's a steal for those who enjoy this Vietnamese staple. The freshness and affordability are hard to beat.Cleanliness and Aroma Considerations:However, it's worth noting that the store's cleanliness might not meet everyone's standards. There is a distinctive odor that some may find off-putting. This might deter those with sensitive olfactory senses.Navigational Challenges:The store's small aisles can be a hindrance, especially when multiple shoppers occupy them. Maneuvering through the aisles can be a bit of a task, and it's advisable to exercise patience during peak hours.Service with Room for Improvement:On the service front, Hong Kong Food Market falls short. The cashiers and most staff members often come across as brusque and unfriendly, which can diminish the overall shopping experience.A Mixed Bag Worth Exploring:Despite these considerations, Hong Kong Food Market remains a valuable resource for enthusiasts of Asian cuisine. Its expansive selection of fresh ingredients and unbeatable Bánh Mì bread deal make it a standout in the area.Recommendation:For those seeking authentic Asian ingredients and a budget-friendly Bánh Mì option, Hong Kong Food Market is worth a visit. Just be prepared to navigate the aisles with patience.

Went to Hong Kong Food Market yesterday for the first time. Drove 30 minutes looking for INDIAN spices and foods. Also, wanted a few Chinese teas and dried goods. The pros: Prices are very reasonable on most items. Pristine selection of produce. Beautiful shrimp and fish. Big selection of fish. You pick the fish and they clean/fillet it for you. Friendly employees. Huge variety of Chinese and Vietnamese products. Fun to explore. The cons: NO INDIAN FOODS OR SPICES! They have a whole aisle and dairy case for Hispanic foods. I thought this was an Asian market. I actually found a couple of Mexican items I needed, but still. I found no paneer, no Indian yoghurt, no mustards aka sarson, no mustard seeds, no green cardamom seed pods, no regular spinach, no kasoori methi aka fenugreek leaves, no Hing spice, no chutneys, no sambar masala and no naan. The place smells like not-so-fresh fish. I can forgive a slightly fishy smell, but standing next to the fish counter was making my eyes water. The fish looked fresh and clean area, so I think its just a result of cleaning fish all day? Not much in the produce section had English labels. I looked up what I could but am new to Vietnamese and Chinese. Bottom line: Worth a trip, but not for Indian items.

New owners. Been customers for 8 years.Tried 3 times, just in case it was a bad day for the new owners. $9.99 for a tiny watermelon $6 for papaya. BOTH ROTTEN. It is clear they raised prices extensively. All employees looked sad. Only 4 registers open with lines all the way to rear of store. We asked for them to open a new cash register, but we were refused. We waited in the fast check out for 35 mins.Rotten fruit. Totally inedible. Just a big mess. We won't be coming back. Walmart has fresh certified organic food that costs much less than their stuff.Too bad. But good news...There is another Asian market in Metairie.

Amazing!!! I will go back every time I'm in the area. Seriously some of the best produce I've ever seen. Very clean and orderly. Everything is 100% fresh! The store is big and offers everything you need. And the prices can't be beat! The manager was kind to us and explained all of the hot foods available. It's a wonderful market!

As an update to my previous review from years ago. I recently spent the summer traveling I am positively ecstatic now that may of the coffees and teas I was buying in Singapore, Indonesia and Japan are available at Hong Kong Market! So many options here and my biggest problem now is I can't buy them all!

We lilting shop here when we in New Orleans. However, it is sad that it isn’t bush’s it should be. A lot of things is old, the seafood areas doesn’t have live fish. Most of the businesses are closed in this shopping center.

Best place in the city for anything Asian cooking related. Excellent produce and seafood selection. Go in and to the right side to the counter for the best banh mi in town and made fresh on a fresh made bun.

I love the Honk Kong Market! They have so many items that I haven't seen elsewhere (at least in New Orleans). Some of my favorite pickups this trip were kimchi dumplings and longan berries. I also bought a whole jackfruit for the first time. They have such a big selection of food and produce! There were long lines but I went grocery shopping on a Saturday so that's on me. Such a big store! I also love that they have a bubble tea and banh mi shop in the entrance; it's a great treat after shopping!

I love this Parker. They always have the best ingredients. And a lot of things you won’t find at your local grocery. The prices are reasonable. And the staff is friendly.

Hong Kong Mkt is the best. They have so many Asian household staples and a great variety of produce, fish, meat, pantry items and dried goods, spices, housewares and they even have banh mi baguettes! It is one of the few places in the city to get Korean essentials my husband and I miss from living in Korea. I love the extensive variety of Vietnamese groceries… going to Hong Kong Mkt is always a fun treat! ☺️

Great experience shopping at Hong Kong Food Market. Got Choy (vegetables) here. This is the only place I have seen it since moving into New Orleans.

If you have any love for Asian food and ingredients, this is the place for you. It is a treasure trove of items that aren't easily found elsewhere and they have some spanish and other international ingredients too. All for pretty cheap too. Definitely going to come back here often
