“An absolute gem in New Orleans! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in warmth and positivity. The atmosphere is infused with such wonderful vibes, and the aroma of freshly made pralines is simply irresistible. Ms. Loretta must have been a truly special soul, as her presence is felt throughout the shop. The relatable scriptures on the walls add a beautiful spiritual touch that makes you feel right at home. It's like stepping into the kitchen of your favorite aunty. If you're looking for a taste of genuine Southern hospitality and mouthwatering pralines, look no further than Loretta's Authentic Pralines. You won't be disappointed!”

“We heard about them having some of the best pralines in the city and they did not disappoint. Very good! Though an overlooked gem is their turtles. OMG get their turtles in both milk chocolate and white chocolate. Definitely worth it!”

“Went on a bit of a Praline tasting spree over a long weekend. After about a half dozen varieties, this one was one of the top two. Possibly the best one. Rich, creamy, plenty of nuts and just the right amount of crumbly. It's in the French market. A busy stall. You may have a wait to get served on the weekend. They do have some other interesting items on the menu such as praline filled begniets which I did not have the nerve to try. Highly recommend if you are looking for sugar fix. The market is a nice touristy spot”

“I order pralines from Quen as wedding favors for our guests and they were a big hit! They were so cute and in the shape of a fleur de lis, and they were delicious! She was even able to accommodate some with no nuts for some of our guests who had nut allergies. Overall it was a great experience working with Quen - she had great communication and great customer service! I would definitely order from her again and am so glad I found her business!”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting a local southern candymaker, and it was an experience I'd love to share. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with the irresistibly rich smell of butter that instantly makes your mouth water. The ambiance is welcoming, with an authentic southern charm that's hard to find elsewhere. What really impressed me was the efficiency of the service. Despite being a popular spot, the line was short and moved quickly, which is a huge plus. I tried three of their specialties: the chocolate praline, peanut butter praline, and creamy praline. Each had its unique flavor profile, but the highlight was definitely the chocolate and creamy pralines which were served warm - a rare and delightful treat! As someone who doesn't usually go for overly sweet things, I found the pralines a bit much for my taste. However, the warmth and freshness of these treats made the experience enjoyable. It's a testament to their dedication to quality and tradition. For anyone with a sweet tooth or an appreciation for artisanal candy making, this place is a must-visit.”

“Oldest confectioner in the French Quarter so they must know what they’re doing. They are known for their pralines and Mississippi Mud candy. Their service is amazing too. Must stop.”

“I walked in for a praline a couple days ago and the employees were having a hard time with the iPads they use for check-out, seems like the iPads were dying while they were trying to ring up customers. The employees handled it very well and were calm and expressed their gratitude to the customers who had to wait a while to check out while one of them ran across the street to go get a new charger to plug the iPad back in! I appreciated their professionalism while they tried their best to keep the business moving, even trying to make change for me out of their tip jar just so I could check out! Friendly customer service and a good praline!”

“5 stars because I’ve been eating their candy since a little girl and they were like family. However, they have sold their business to Cafe du Monde instead of keeping the business in the family and the new owners never have candy online or in the store so I would give it a rating of 2 stars. I wish they would bring back the candy and be consistent with it. This by far was the best place for pralines in New Orleans!”

“When I think of Laura’s Chocolates, my mind immediately thinks of the location on Chartres Street. There are also others spread around the City and today I visited the one on Royal Street. This location is a lot newer and slightly larger than my regular. It is also filled with the same delicious chocolate and other treats that the store is known for. Laura’s is a great place to stop for something sweet or for a gift for someone special.Vegetarian options: Candy is largely non-meatDietary restrictions: Staff will assist with restrictions you make them aware ofParking: Limited on street and several paid garages in the areaKid-friendliness: Fully kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible”

“Wonderful assortments of treats here! They have sugar free options (only 2 BUT still happy to see them for the diabetic people and others who are watching their sugar intake!) And the staff was amazing! Even threw in some free stickers. Also they have some cute little stuffed animals and books for the kids. And some cute punny stickers and shot glasses. Awesome place. You have to check them out!”

“So many stores sell the pralines but only this one has an anthropomorphic alligator greeting you upon entrance. He is ornery because you can purchase the decapitated heads of his brethren within. Should you be so gauche as to procure one of these fine trophies, at least have the decency to hide them in a bag. It’s only proper.”
