“This DG store is kept in great shape ! Everything is stacked nicely on shelves and is priced. There is even extra items I haven't seen in other stores. There were not any carts with product just sitting there. Store is kept clean. This is not the first time I've been in this store and it's always this way. The people that work there are friendly and helpful and always doing something to keep the store in top shape. I go out of my way to go to this store because the way it is run. The stores closer to me are always unkept and items without pricing. Don't know if always short handed but if so, the company definitely needs to hire more people. I would recommend anyone to the store on Hwy. 44 !”

“Very clean, well stocked store. They have milk in cartons that have a nice shelf life. Friendly and helpful staff. One helped a teacher get enough small stockings for her class. Another found the cherry flavored candy canes I always enjoy getting for Christmas.”

“I gave this store four stars just because it's close to home but I don't go out my way to go there unless I forgot something. It's my "go to" if I forget anything. They do have clearance stuff on cleaning items but you do have to watch and price compare if it's worth it. They don't always have what you need since it's just general select items. It's a conscience thing if you don't want to go to your local super center. This is a great place to get candy if you have a sweet tooth! I do like this place because of the location and there is a Redbox outside. They do have pool toys at a reasonable price if your going to the beach. As a dollar store you can find somethings for a $1 but do your comparative price check and they do have a general selection on stuff if you need to just get in and out of a store! I can tell you that they were open around our area because my area flooded during the great storm woth no name in August 2016 and I was very fortunate they were open!”

“This store has had a dramatic change in these past 3 months and now it’s enjoyable to shop here. If you would have asked me a year ago to go shop at this store I would have thought it was a joke. This was one of the most disgusting stores in my area. Not only stock but trash everywhere in this store. The floor was always so dirty I didn’t even like walking on it. You couldn’t even push a buggy down any of the aisles it was so piled with boxes. I was always scared to move anything in fear of something falling on me. They are now under new management obviously so go ahead and check them out now. This store is the cleanest it’s ever been. Thanks Dollar General for making management changes because now I can shop at this store again.”

Also the manager there which I am not sure what her name was but she was so kind and helpful!!!! I really hope the main office sees this review and gives her major props for what she is doing!!!!”

“The cashier was real nice. I came here to get snacks before going to the movies and they had a great selection of cheap snacks for this occasion. I like the self checkout but I didn't like the idea that I would of had to go to an app to get deals on my order. I should be able to sign up with the cashier or on the self check out. Or the deals should be available to everyone. Beyond that everything was great and they do accept EBT too”

“I just left there. The store is great but the cashier that just assisted me is a thief. Long story short, my total was about $102.00. I placed some items on the floor because there were not any baskets available. The cashier rung up my items and told me my bags were going to fall if I did not get them. I grabbed the bags. I counted out five 20's and a couple ones and handed it to her. She told me I needed to give her another twenty so I did but with hesitation. I turned around to make sure I got everything and noticed a toy in a box that she did not put in a bag. I asked if she had gotten that one and she said yes. I picked up the toy and the magical twenty dollar bill fell from underneath it. I noticed a tall male standing behind me and now I know this is what thieves do when they want to steal from us. You have a job and you have to steal from me? You are an ungrateful little girl and I hope you get fired.”

“The employees in all of my stores in Ascension Parish in LA...Gonzales, Prairieville, ST Amant...are all very helpful. Please take note that all stores have the same problem. They are understaffed and that does not allow adequate time to stock merchandise. There is always a line and usually only 2 or 3 workers, often including management. It is very convenient for all general needs but not if it's not on the shelves. we have many stores in our area but not enough workers. Everyone agrees on this and I often shop elsewhere because I can see the line before I walk in. In this area, we prefer to shop your stores than larger stores like Walmart.”

They are always working diligently at our 3 local stores.I want to speak to customers that come through on weekends (particularly Friday through Sunday)…“Have more respect for people that work so hard to stock your favorite store!!!”I came into my closest store and was shocked to see the condition of it on the Wednesday after Halloween (Monday).I went back for a few things on Friday morning and it was much better. The employees were pulling old stock and Halloween out to start putting up Christmas.The shambles the stores are in is the same after the weekends no matter if there was a holiday.”

“Friendly greeting and service, as always! Visit Dollar General for good products (mostly) at a reasonable cost. This store is quiet so you can shop in peace. I'll never smell those terrible candles again. Other than that, DG runs a great store! I find makeup products here that are comparable to ULTA, yet far less expensive. I have visited for 1 or 2 items only to get easily distracted browsing the entire store. If I snag a few extra items, and I usually do, it doesn't break the wallet - unlike expensive and chaotic Walmart shopping. Also, Dollar General staff won't hold you and a line full of customers at the door to glance at a receipt. Dollar General employees thank you for shopping there and wish you a good day when you leave! Customers like me appreciate that. I will definitely be back and it will likely be soon.”
