If I could give you a- --100 It was as dirty as it always is. If there was a fire everyone would die. Everyone wouldn't have a way out. The ONLY ONLY reason I ever go there is because what I get from there I can't get it around my house. EVERY dollar general store is horrible...BUT the 1 in Monterey Louisiana.I hope this post gets to someone who cares.

They have updated it but staff not friendly. Cashier talking on phone(ear bud?)during checkout. Basically ignored customer. Didn't thank me for shopping there ,which I won't again, even tho I spent 100.00. Will go to grocery store next time.

Customer service is ok and the staff is nice it's a little better since it's been redone but still got boxes on the floor in the way but it's better than it was.
