βLove this place - they may have crazy business hours, but their assortment of reusable materials and hardware is second to none in the Greater New Orleans area. I never leave empty handed. From an old mason jar full of mixed screws and hooks to antique French doors, there's bound to be a treasure for every patron waiting around any of its numerous corners and crevices. With incredibly reasonable (sometimes negotiable) pricing, I make an effort to stop at The Green Project before heading to those big box hardware stores for most accoutrements. If you like the atmosphere of a hardware store flea market and don't mind getting a little dirty while digging, you'll love it. The staff are always laid back and ready to assist in any way they can.β

βI like this hardware store. I have been going here fifty years. Not a big box type of store. The men who run this store are knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend going in and taking a look around, it sells some interesting items. I am going to return to buy a boiling pot and burner that I need. It's too large to get on an airplane, so I will drive back to Jefferson,La. to get it. Follow up I drove back to this store a month later and bought a 102 quart stainless steel pot and a stainless steel two jet burner. The two cost me $520.00 . I was glad to get them and I will find out in the spring if I made a good choice. I will do an update and say just what I think.β

He had tried other places in the area, but the staff here is so much more helpful, not to mention nicer! I went to buy him a surprise machine at a place in Kenner, and I feel like they blew me off because I was a woman! I told my husband I was so upset and we went back to Marse!β
βThe Rockery Ace hardware store has been around for a long time. It is a small hardware store, but there's lots of stuff in there!! There are little pieces and parts and fittings for building things. They have supplies for plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, etc. They still make keys too. The staff are right there to help you find what you need. They are very nice. The prices are fair, not overpriced. ?β
βThe item I was looking for wasn't on the shelf. Asked one of the employees, and she checked for the tool. There were a few more in stock, so in a few minutes it was in my hands.β
βWe love the hand made crab nets and crawfish nets at a great price! They are durable and well worth the price. They have a large selection of supplies. The only thing is they are only open Monday- Friday closed on weekendsβ

βThis traditional neighborhood hardware store is the best place to shop for both price and convenience. They cut keys, assist with plumbing projects, have everything you need to maintenance your home and garden. Donβt shop the big box stores when you can get great customer service from a locally owned shop!β
βLong story short, I broke a spiral screw extractor off into the screw I was trying to remove from the rotor on my car. Screw extractors are made from a very hard tempered steel so they are very hard to drill out and special bits are needed. I called Grainger (which is a great company too) but they didn't have my parts in stock and would either need a few days shipping time or massive FedEx charges. I knew Van Horn is a local company (I believe they are owned by a German conglomerate now) that sells industrial supplies so I gave them a call. I spoke at first with Ron and he told me the parts he had in stock and gave me some advice and tips and charged me with my CC over the phone so I could just pick them up. When I got there, I ended up luckily meeting Marty Thomas when I got to the warehouse. He asked about my problem and figured out that the parts I had purchased were the wrong size. The correct drill bit was in their Houma warehouse and he was going to have one of his employees drive it back to Kenner that night and he was going to pick it up from him and bring it to their New Orleans warehouse for me. In the meantime he told me about some other options I could try. A product called Loctite makes a spray which freezes the metal to -45ΓΒ° so that the screw shrinks and breaks the seal with the thread. He also recommended a few $2 left hand turn drill bits to get the screw out once the Loctite got it loose. Van Horn is an industrial supply company and usually deals with wholesale orders to large companies ordering in bulk. For him to take the time to help me with a project for a retail customer that only added up to a few dollars showed why Van Horn has been in business since 1903. If you are ever searching for better than your Home Depot adhesives, coated abrasives, cutting tools, grinding wheels, machine tools, maintenance tools, measuring tools, power tools or tape, give them a call.β

βFriendly staff. Has 2 floors. 2nd floor had all household items like dishes, blenders, pet stuff, etc. It's a small place but they have EVERYTHING! From old style nails to bicycle stuffs to vacuums, gardening stuff and place settings... It's a one stop shop!β

βThe employees I have encountered here have taken customer service to the next level. Very friendly and if you're looking for something most will stop what they're doing and actually take you to the location of your inquiry not just point and leave you to your own devices. They have a self checkout system but there are people there to assist you. They will actually cheerfully assist or check you out if you need help.β
