This was a wonderful experience to review history. We had the wonderful opportunity to have a tour from one of the residents who lived the history and could explain all about the railroad Depot. There are many original fixtures and benches in this museum. We also had the opportunity to tour one of the passenger railroad cars as well as the steam locomotive engine that is at the museum. During our tour I wished I had a DeLorean so I could go back in time and witness the excitement of this bustling little depot.

This place is a blast from the past! Great history lesson for any millennial or anybody. Nice lady inside I believe her name was Mary, (forgive me if I’m wrong)knows all there is to know about this particular train station! We had a great time learning about everything she told us about the railroad business. Thank you for a memorable experience!

In the former Kansas City Southern station. The KCS north-south line is just east a couple blocks and the line to the north is next to the station. Good collection of railroad artifacts. Freight room is unchanged from when station was in use.Outside is a Southern Pacific steam engine, an MP caboose and a SSW caboose and a passenger car, all under a shelter.

Based on the information posted here, we figured the place was open for business. On arrival, there was a sign posted on the door that it was closed due to storm damage with no reopening planned anytime soon.We enjoyed our walk around the grounds though.
