Total scam for someone to get good money from an insurance! They sure don’t take pride in their work! Estimate was $4064.00 to fix the damage. Ok so they was to put a new aftermarket mirror. About a week or so I called them to check on my vehicle. They said should that Friday ok. So they called me around 5 when they close and said my vehicle is ready. It was going to be on the side the shop with the keys in it. Ok so I get my vehicle get home looking over the work they did. Boy did I get a rude awakening!!! So I see about 5 things that are wrong! So call them the following week. Brung it back showed them what was wrong. Oh no problem I’ll have one of my guys take care of it. Ok he tells me what anybody would want to hear. Oh we going have to order you a new mirror. Ok a week goes by no call. So I called them. So dropped it off on my was to work. It was ready after lunch. Picked it up thinking I have anew mirror right. New mirror all right!!

It's a money racket to begin with, but to try and keep my tools from me was bogus. I understand everyone has a job to do, I truly understand. Pathetic I swear. How can any of y'all sleep peacefully at night!!!!

Do not bring your vehicle here. Every part of everything they “fixed” is trash. They changed my hood, and replaced it with a bent one. They repainted the whole car. There’s chunks in it. CHUNKS!!!!! Like they painted it at the beach. The orange peel is so bad it doesn’t pay too wash it. Literally, it looks better dirty. Oh yeah, the paint is bubbling. I called State Farm and they told me to take it back. Why would I do that I’ve already seen what kind of work they do. If I tried to sell the car and told them it had a fresh paint job they’d laugh at me . It was probably worth more with the storm damage. Oh yeah, and they left spots they circled to fix unattended.

Bought a classic car a few years back that was built by them. When it went to go get a color change discovered this shop had filled huge rust holes with tons of body filler. The good thing I guess is they are great at hiding poor quality work and rust. Also editing to add the wiring work on this car was some of the worst I've seen.If your thinking of buying a classic car or truck from this shop turn and run!

I recently contacted Ken's about getting an estimate for my car. I was told by the dealership that the cost to repaint the car would be over $8,000, and I wanted to shop local and hopefully get a more reasonable quote. The receptionist was extremely sweet and professional when I explained the situation to her over the phone, and she was just as pleasant in person. She called over someone to check out my car (it was covered by overspray from a boat that was being repainted), and the guy says that the car doesn't need to be repainted and that it could be fixed another way. He says it would cost around $700, ballpark. Great. He then tells me that I would need to get the vehicle cleaned, and that the cleaner it is the better job he can do with repairs. Hmm. So his work is subject to how clean I can get the car before he does the work. Okay. I tell him that I would like to get a quote for repainting also, along with the repair quote. I tell him that I am considering filing the claim with my insurance company, but my deductible is $1,500. He says it wouldn't be worth filing it because the insurance company wouldn't pay for the paint job and that the cost for the repair would be "around" that price "give or take." I asked if that included detailing/cleaning, and he said that they would detail it because of the mess the job would entail. I then asked him if he would be able to clean the car (so I don't have to do this prior to bringing it in and not wanting to run the risk of my cleaning job not being good enough to result in a satisfactory repair job as he made clear from the beginning to be a factor), and he said that they would be able to do it for the $1,500 amount. I asked for written estimates 3 times throughout the conversation with him. I made a phone call from the parking lot to discuss the conversation I had just had with this guy, and as a result I needed the quote he had just verbally provided. I told him that I would try to get the company that caused the damage to consider remedying the issue (instead of paying out of my own pocket or trying to file an insurance claim) and that I needed a written quote. He said, "That's not how we do business here." I was slightly taken aback and confused, so I asked him to elaborate. He said that his verbal estimate was based on not having the vehicle cleaned when he quoted the amount initially, and it was also based on who would be paying for it. He proceeds to tell me that he wants to speak to the person I had called to discuss the situation with (my mom, who is familiar with this body shop), and walked away. He made it a point to state that if my insurance were paying, he had no issues "maximizing the estimate." He also, clearly, had no issue subtly adjusting his verbal estimate from $700 to $1,500 when he concluded that I'd be paying out of pocket. But after the fourth request for a written estimate that would be reviewed by another party, for obvious reasons he felt uncomfortable with everything we had just discussed, because he knew that he was attempting to inflate the numbers to either an insurance company or someone (me) not very familiar with car repairs and work such as this. I left, and said that I'd find someone else to help me with my car. It's absolutely astounding to me how people can do business like this. I 100% believe that it's not always the case of 'the customer's always right," because no, they aren't. But when it comes down to it, this person is a poor representation of what I've heard to be a business that does good work. There's a big difference between doing good work, though, and conducting good business. I can't speak from personal experience about their work, but from the business conduct standpoint, my experience here was, practically, the poster child handbook of "Everything You Should Avoid Doing When Running a Business."
