Just picked up my 2018 Ridgeline from the service department for a transmission oil change, oil change and give it a look over. They also did a tailgate recall.
Everything went well in the beginning then it went downhill quick. I stopped by saturday to arrange a Monday night drop off and Tuesday AM service to have it back by lunch on Tuesday. Whoever that young man was - he was great.
Dropped off the truck Monday night - no issues.
Tuesday at lunch - haven't heard from the dealership, normally you get the call to swap out air filters or something else, so I called and left a message. Got a return call after 1:30pm from Josh. Josh should look for another line of work than customer service.
Josh explains they just started working on the recall and then the transmission fluid would be next. I clarified, wait I dropped it off last night so it would be ready by lunch. His reply "Oh, well, yeah....checks with the mechanic, it will be ready around 4pm."
No sorry, hey let me make it up to you. That was odd, because this service department had always treated me very well. Let it go. Get the call the truck is ready, again odd - no mention of anything else that needed to be done - just its ready.
I go up to pick up the truck, normally they either offer a free car wash or wash it. No offer and the truck hasn't been cleaned. I asked Josh if the car wash was broken, "No". I mentioned normally they offer a wash or wash it. "Oh we don't wash cars without asking because people have gotten mad." At this point he offers but I decline because I need to get back to work.
I pay, get my keys and chalk it up to not a great experience. Get in my truck and turn it on - Maintenance Due Soon on my dash - can't miss it. They either didn't change my oil or didn't reset it.
I go back in, ask to speak to the Service Manager - wait 5 minutes to find out he's in a meeting. I ask Josh - how did someone not see that the oil needed changed? "Oh, well its not on the ticket".
I replied, "come on, I normally get phone calls about air filters and you didn't think to call to check to see if you should change the oil". His response was "Well I never drove the car."
"Seriously, thats your answer?" He replied and this was the second time he said this "Hey, I get it." Again, no offer, no thoughts on how to remedy this.
I told him - have your Service Manager call me asap. "Will do."
Still haven't heard from the service manager. If this is the kind of service I can expect from Honda of Covington, I will go ahead and take that $1,400 timing belt service that needs to be done in 5k miles to another store and see if they appreciate my business.
I enjoy my Ridgeline - the service department and Josh needs to be addressed.
Update - the service manager contacted me the next morning and was very professional.
They worked with me and took very good care of me on Saturday. I appreciate the quick response and will bring my car back to their service department.

As reliable as the rising of the sun.
I have a 2017 CRV Honda suv, and the air conditioning wasn't working properly. I brought it into Honda of Covington, and I saw the serviceman, Jacob. He said that Honda realized there was an issue with some part of my a/c unit, so they covered the repair.
Really good experience with Jacob, and so thankful that Honda saw it fit to cover the repair at no cost to me.
Love my Honda of Covington!

I recently brought my 2017 Honda Ridgeline to the service department to have a torque converter replaced. The extended warranty for that part covered the cost. Shortly after getting it back I noticed a leak coming from underneath the truck. I was told to bring it back in and was diagnosed with 2 front differential seals that needed to be replaced. I was quoted over $1000 for this job so I declined the service to get a second opinion from a local mechanic. This mechanic told me that the problem wasn’t my differential oil seals but it was my transmission fluid that was leaking from in between the transfer case and the transmission. I called this place back and was told that there wasn’t anyway that they could’ve caused this problem. Every mechanic I have spoken to since said that there is a high likely hood that the seal on the transmission shaft had been damaged during the torque converter repair and this place doesn’t want to take responsibility. I did not have a leak before initially bringing it in. I have tried to contact management the last 3 days without any success. Multiple calls were made and messages left. None of my calls have been returned. It’s very disappointing the lack of responsibility this place is taking. This was probably done on accident and I usually am very understanding but this lack of accountability has led me to making this review and I will attach a picture of the leak.
*UPDATE*
Karl reached out to me and was very professional and respectful in his approach. He worked out a solution to the problem and it is getting resolved soon. I appreciate him for reaching out to help fix this issue.

Definitely do a thorough inspection or take the car to a mechanic before purchasing a used car from these guys. I bought a used SUV from this dealership from out of state which probably isn’t smart, but I trusted the sales team to be transparent with issues based on it being a major brand auto dealership. I was told the tires were inspected and in good shape, the drive belt was replaced, that all kinds of thorough inspection work was done, blah blah blah. Turns out the rubber in the tires was cracking at every seam, and needed to be replaced immediately. The drive belt developed a very loud chirping/squealing sound 2 weeks after buying it, a mechanic told me it was old and worn and misaligned. Also the speakers were blown, would have been nice to know. The brake pads and rotors were worn down and needed replacing, which combined with the tires is a major safety issue, especially since they knew I’d be driving the car 500 miles after buying. Had to spend thousands of extra dollars on the car just for it to be safe to drive. Avoid them for used cars or do your own inspection, don’t count on theirs. Or budget an extra $3k-$5k+ on top of what you’re spending on the car. They were no help when I called and emailed them about the issues, got in a 10 minute argument about what “good” actually means for tires and drive belts when I asked about the condition of the tires and belt. I don’t know, maybe not deteriorating and cracking rubber on every single tire, and not sounding like a squirrel is dying in the engine bay!? They even tried to tell me how in demand the car was and that the GM’s son wanted it so bad or something. So ok, they just said no to the GM and decided to sell it to a random guy 500 miles away? Just crazy misdirection which led to no compensation at all, they told me to go buy a new belt on Amazon for $30. Would not even compensate that amount. Avoid or BYOM bring your own mechanic.

had some problems. Jacob in service gave me a call and fixed it promptly. Got good service and will be fixing all the issues under warranty. My display had been adjusting it self and clicking itself then not allowing for touch. I would recommend going to Jacob for all your Honda needs

Worked with Matt on a used Toyota Sequoia. I live in Indiana and had to use him to be my eyes and ears. He was super great to work with and very transparent. We worked everything though calls, emails and texts so I had the deal worked out before I stepped foot on the lot. I flew and and he picked me up and took me to the dealership and it was exactly what we had agreed to. Super smooth transaction and I was in and out in less than an hour.
