I left the battery for my dad's car to be looked at the next morning. I didn't drive the car because it's very hot and I didn't want to get stuck. I expected to get a call in the morning that the battery was bad and they needed a receipt to check the age of the battery for warranty. That they had a battery that would fit. That is not the call I got. It was we need the receipt to say where you got the battery. I asked if it was tested he said no that would be $39.99. I feel like I was called a thief. Had it gone the other way I would have shown up bought a new battery. Instead I retrieved the battery and spent the money elsewhere. I also said I didn't like being called a thief. it's all in the wording.
update: someone informed me interstate batteries are stamped on the side with the date making the need for a dated receipt unnecessary. They also have a nation wide warranty. I don't think the person answering me should have thrown his employee under the bus. He was a nice guy. The battery was not attached to the car because it was a feels like temperature of 107. Not one of those men would have let their mother drive a car with a bad battery. They would have done what I did and brought it in. The new battery from a different store fixed my problem because the battery was bad. A Mercedes needs a crank of 900. no one even asked me what kind of car.

On Fri, 7/12/24, my truck would not start. Co-workers assisted, and I was told that I should get a new battery right away because if I turn off my truck, it will likely not start again. A suggestion was made to go to Firestone because it was right around the corner. I went to Firestone at 71329 LA-21 in Covington, Louisiana. I pulled up between 4:40 & 4;45 p.m. Luckily, I left my truck running to go inside because they turned me away. There were 2 gentlemen at the counter, I asked if it was too late to get a battery. One looked at me and said, yes - we close in 15 minutes, but we open at 7:30 in the morning. I mentioned that I could not turn off my truck and needed to get a battery right away then thanked them and left. They were not rude, and I get that people are ready to go home at the end of the day. If it wouldn't have taken the guy at AutoZone less than 7 minutes to install a new battery, I would've thought nothing of this. But I did end up driving to AutoZone and purchasing a pricey battery. The guy at AutoZone installed the battery in less than 7 minutes. The process from start to finish probably didn't take much longer than 15 minutes.

I moved to Covington 2 years ago. i had Not
Been able to find a Qualified Reputable
Auto Mechanic store. Bad experiences
Up and down Hwy 21.
Last Friday i decided to try Hwy 21 Firestone
Store. Luckily for me Richard Steele answered the phone. Pleasant and Knowledgeable. Accommodating. I mean
Who gets 2 new tires installed on a Friday
In under 3 hours??
Super Clean Store, a Pet Peeve for me.
Greeted Immediately at a Busy counter
By Richard. He was able to handle my business quickly and easily. He actually
Saved me about 100 bux by suggesting another Brand of tire with a Better Warranty
My Pilot runs Smoothly, No Vibration
No pulling etc. Richard took such good
Care of me, he will get all my families
Business on 6 vehicles. I live 5 minutes away
And Time and Convenience are Major Factors on where I shop.
This Store gets Top Rating from me!
I Highly recommend Hwy 21 Firestone
And Richard Steele ?

I was truly amazed upon walking in. Friendly service, very clean environment, and professionally operated.
The workers all seemed to enjoy their job and had such a positive attitude. The inside was almost spotless. Nicely decorated, water/coffee, and very clean restrooms. A television to watch was a nice addition.
I was in and out in no time. I will bring ALL of my future related problems to this Firestone. I cannot say enough nice things about this establishment.

My wife went to this Firestone to get a brake tag. She was told that her tint was too dark. This car was bought new from the dealership and didn't have any tint added. Since she was lied to, we went to another shop and had a brake tag in less than 20 minutes. We will not be referring others here for brake tags, rather I'll recommend the legit brake tag shop. Being a mechanic, that's a lot of recommendations.
As a reply to the managers reply: as we explained in the original post. The vehicle was bought brand new with less than 1000 miles and never had tint put on.

After refusing to service my vehicle, they managed to talk themselves out of replacing 2 sets of tires for my vehicles. Not to mention the person on the phone was an extreme dbag. Good job! Don't offer services you aren't capable of.
