I've been in there several times and it's just a seedy atmosphere. Although pawn shops aren't the fanciest of stores, this place gives me the creeps. And the help is quite surly. I wasn't too impressed with their lowballing of merchandise; for myself, and for other customers around me. I went in twice and both times left without selling or buying. I had two rings: one a small gold wedding set with less than a 1/4 karat diamond and they offered me $240, which was fine; but my platinum 2 karat diamond engagement ring which was gorgeous and untainted, and platinum wedding band with almost 1 karat, which originally had been valued at almost $5,000, only rang up $500. Seems like a screw is loose somewhere!

From a customer perspective, my experience was very mixed. When I called to ask if they had the console I was looking for, the lady on the phone was very nice. They had the item, and for a cheaper price than another pawn store, so I decided I wanted it. She gave me her name and told me to ask for her when I got to the shop. The service I got once I was at the store was different. It may not have been intentional - maybe he was on the spectrum, or maybe he was high on something - but the guy who helped me came across as kinda rude and patronizing. I was initially excited about the savings of buying a console in a pawn shop instead of new or from an individual, but between taxes and the return-warranty it ended up being about the same price as buying from an individual, and the in-store service was just uncomfortable.

I have a 40 year history with Cash America., sometimes buying , sometime pawning in multiple locations , without a single complaint. Trust me , the vast majority of negative reviews are nonsense from unreasonable "customers" who need a life. By the way , I'm 70 yrs old.WAYYYY harder to please than most people...

So I just returned a cell phone I bought two days ago. When I tried to activate the phone, I was informed by my wireless provider that the phone had been reported lost or stolen. I was able to get a refund on the phone at the pawn shop, but could not be refunded for the $15 insurance policy I bought on the phone. We were told the purpose in buying the insurance policy was for things like this. Maybe next time you should inform your customer that the insurance will guarantee them a refund in case you made a mistake.. You sold us a phone that had been reported lost/stolen and it cost me $15.My dad has been a pretty loyal customer to Cash America in Chalmette for almost 20 years and it was always my first choice when looking for refurbished tools and electronics. You lost all future business from both of us today. I had to give you 1 star just to post this but I definitely would have given you 0 had that been possible.

Try to make a purchase of a gun today they said only one person per car can go into the shop I was the first one to go into the shop to figure out what kind of gun to get for someone else then they went into the shop to buy it for theyselves and they told me that they can sell it to them because I was the one that picked it out for them like how can someone buy one if they don't know what they lookinghow can someone buy one if they don't know what they looking at will never get my business again

My husband and I went to purchase a gun in April. When we walked up to the door, the employees told us, only one at a time. We said, ok, but we would like to make this decision together. I looked first, decided what I wanted, then I sent my husband in to see the gun I wanted and to see what pump he wanted. Well, needless to say, after I gave the clerk my license, she said I needed to have my social security card because me and the guy I'm with are acting suspicious and we keep coming in and out. I had to tell her, that's illegal to request my ss card and the guy I'm with I've been married to for 32 years. The only reason why we are not together is because you said, only 1 person can enter at a time. Well, RACIAL PROFILING at its Best!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! We went to a gun shop in Jefferson Parish the next day and spent $1800... FYI... It's in my husband's name. Just because he has tattoos, doesn't mean he's a criminal.!!!! If I could have given them a Zero, I would have. DO NOT SHOP AT CASH PAWN AMERICA!!!

I just called this place about Pistol and the lady had a attitude on the phone. I'm a Commission Officer and a gun collector so I tried to give this place business cause I saw on their website that a FNS 40 has been sitting there for over two months now but I see why now cause she just lost them good business cause if she would've done right and show real customer service I would've brought the pistol plus probably more but I'm going to take my 3250$ some where else. If they dont change their bad customer service and rude nasty attitude, they're going to lose a lot of customers...smh
