Called before going get a plate lunch & asked if I needed to place the order over the phone the lady said no, drove 20 minutes just for them to be out of plate lunches ?

We always go for the seafood or meat pies, chili, and red beans frozen. They are good but they need to back off on the salt. It takes away from the real taste. May have to try somewhere different. Hopefully they see the post.

My mother and i got to the check out counter, i was paying with an EBT card and it was over my limit and the older lady with short black hair caught an attitude with me because I didn’t have enough on my card but she wasn’t saying anything nor ask any questions about how much i have on my card. Then we proceeded to respond to the fact of how much i had left on my card and she got aggravated with the fact that she had to ring up everything again, so another girl came to help her and nither was she verbal. Then that’s when the short black headed woman started hollering at me about the issue of what items i wanted to purchase when they could have just added it all up and whatever was left they should have just took it off of my debit card. If they wasnt to busy gossiping instead of paying attention to their customers this problem never would have happend and then she tells me i need to get out. I’ve been in the public since I’m 18 and that’s not how you treat customers. Worst attitudes i have ever delt with. They need new employees and a new system and better service. Will not be returning because they are EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!!!

I will start this off by saying as far as taste goes this is BY FAR one of the best plate lunch establishments in the area. Their Sausage in a gravy and meatball stew are absolutely delicious. The only reason I am giving this a 3 instead of a 5 star are based on two factors. The amount of food you get for the price, and overall staff friendliness or lack thereof. Price isn't super steep, but comparing it to other local plate lunch eateries (I've been to a lot) its disappointing. My go to eatery loads you up with food, and is slightly cheaper. They're about on par with Hebert's taste wise but to be honest I will give it to them, they can cook. There you get an entrée and two sides which is usually vegetables or something. At Hebert's you get the entrée, a side, and a snack which is generally a small Hostess snack cake so it's not very filling for people who can put down food. I have had some decent experiences when I first went, but as of late I have encountered 2 people working the front that didn't seem like they wanted to be there. They came off kind of rude, and when I was placing my order one of the times someone came in that the lady knew. She took a while to fix my place, because she kept speaking to the gentleman behind me and even tried to start taking his order before even finishing mine.Edit: I am leaving the top portion just to show how respectable it is that they actually listen to their customer base. I originally gave them a 3 star and I changed it to 5 stars. A couple weeks after leaving this review a co-worker wanted to go back for lunch. I decided to give it another go because as I stated above their plate lunches are some of the best tasting around. They took what I said above to heart and made changes accordingly. They were very nice and respectable during my visit, they started giving two sides instead of a side and a small hostess cake, and the portions were amazing. Thanks for listening, it goes a long way.

I see why I rather go to Kirk's or Billy's. Went through drive thru to get greasy boudin and cold chicken cracklins. The popcorn chicken from Sonic has a better taste then that. Don't go here it just a meat market their warmers must be broken. Smh

My wife and I often stop at hebert's to get boudin and chicken crackling and have never had a problem until today. The boudin was served out of the casing and the chicken crackling taste like it was a day old. If they would have given us a heads up that the boudin wasn't in the casing or had seeped out we would have understood and on top of that it was very greasy. This a disappointment because I would have never served this to my customers. Please don't do it to the next person this situation is very inconvenient especially while traveling.

I went today to get a plate lunch , there is a girl there that is so rude , it’s not the first time but it will be her last I will never go back again, the food is way to spicy no taste just spice, that has done it for me you now have lost my business I will not refer anyone to y’all again!!!

Best chicken cracklins I've ever had. Always fresh and warm, and the taste cannot be beat. Seasoned to perfection, not overly salted and never too spicy, always the perfect medium. These guys have their recipe down to a science. I have to remind myself not to eat the whole container. Price is reasonable as well. Great and convenient location and friendly service. Hats off to the chef!

Got a stuffed chicken shipped to West Virginia, yes its a state, NOT Virginia. Wow, best thing I've eatin in a long time. I will be ordering much more soon. Thank you so much! I highly recommend the eggplant and brown rice stuffing chicken. Soooo tasty! I wish I could give 100 stars
