3100 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie“Heard about this family run garden through the grapevine and wanted to support. Called in before showing up and asked about a certain species along with details about height, care, etc.. Showed up a few days later to snag the plants. The team onsite was very helpful and knowledgable. Helped load the van up and also saved a couple bucks as they mentioned I do not need so many bags of top soil as I'd thought. Anyways, the plants look healthy but not sure on longevity just yet. This review is more for the hospitality and professionalism of the company as it was impeccable. Will update if I remember after a month or so to let you know how plants end up”
“There's always a fascinating collection of plants and gift items available here. It's hard to choose new babies, but no choice is bad here. You'll definitely leave with a new plant bae-by!There are also other Black-women owned businesses here like Waist Love waistbeads.”
“Urban Roots deserves their solid reputation. I purchased a plant that I knew would need to be repotted in short order, so I also bought a larger clay pot. At the checkout, this very nice person offered to transplant it for me if I had a few extra minutes. Who does things like that any more?! Their plants are healthy and cared for, and their customer service deserves 5 stars! Highly recommend.”
“This is a family run plant/ pet store that has a lot of selection and lower prices than the big box home improvement stores. The starter plants are obviously well cared for and thrive in our garden. They offer plants that do well in this climate and are knowledgeable about their planting and care. I don't think anyone in the area has the aquarium tanks and supplies as the Rose Garden. As an older person, it's nice that they will load bags of fertilizer, and other heavy or bulky items.I was into bonsai and was overjoyed to find their bonsai tool, supplies, and pot section. It's always a serene experience.”
“Staff is always friendly. Always willing to help get stuff to the car if you need help. They carry better dog food brands than generic chain stores. I love their reward program for our pet food.”
“Large & extensive neighborhood plant haven with friendly & attentive staff. I crossed the train tracks (on the crosswalk) to get here, and was grateful for cozy seating areas in the heat. Plant selection is incredible, with species that thrive in many different conditions like air, underwater, regular soil, etc. The setup and display are visually appealing & educational; I recognized the diversity & resilience of plants I’d been previously familiar with through intentionally unique displays here. A bit pricey, but they seem to have frequent sales on plants, soil, and accessories. Great for shopping and/or a nice stroll on a cool day.”
“The owner was friendly and helpful in getting me what I needed. Happy to support a local small businesses and it saved me $$s in shipping fees. This is the only store equipped with hydro equipment that I'm aware of in the area.Go see em ??”
“We recently had TPG completely upgrade our backyard garden. We couldn’t have been more pleased.
In the past, we’ve spoken with landscape companies from our immediate neighborhood about upgrading the garden in our front yard. Each of them either didn’t listen to what we had in mind or chose to ignore it. Their proposals were nothing like what we had in mind. Since the garden was small enough, we simply did it ourselves.
That wasn’t an option for the backyard, since the garden was far too large. So, we turned to TPG. Alex came out and truly listened to us. We were delighted when we received his proposal. It was everything we had in mind and more.
The work was done very efficiently, just two full workdays over a three-day period. The crew that did the work were very professional and left the work site as clean as possible at the end of each workday. As they removed the plants from the existing garden, they were careful to find the three or four turtles that we’d missed when we prepared the garden for the work.
The plants TPG provided were in excellent condition, with flowers in bloom on most of them. So, the garden looks impressive here at the outset. It will only get better as the plants grow and fill out the space. Already, the garden is even more impressive than what we anticipated looking at Alex’s proposal diagram.
Based on TPG’s reputation, we had fairly high expectations. But the whole project and the end result far exceeded those expectations. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend TPG to anyone looking for landscape work.”
“My DIL (to be) relocated from another state to La a week before her birthday and would be celebrating without her family and friends. I found and (nervously) called Sophisticated Styles based on proximity to DIL's address. The floral arrangement was one of the best I've seen. Beautiful, fragrant blooms that lasted several days. Reasonanly priced for great quality. Sue called from her personal phone to give updates after her power went out. Top notch service and products.”

8400 Jefferson Hwy, Harahan“Great for pets and gardening needs. My family has shopped here for a couple of decades now and their prices are the best by far. Extremely knowledgeable about their products as well.”
“Everything is pretty pricey but that makes sense. Everything is from local farmers and growers. I've never gotten any meat, but the produce and bread is high quality. Love getting different kinds of mushrooms from them.”
“This is a locally owned family business which has served west bankers for years. They have pretty much everything you need in order to grow roses, lots of other flowers, vegetables and herbs. Oh, and don't forget, trees suitable for transplanting into your yard. My favorite item: a fine selection of roses every spring, including many classic and new hybrid teas. They also have bedding plants (vegetables, flowers, herbs), seeds, and all the miscellaneous garden stuff - everything from manure to assorted organic and not so organic fungicides and bug sprays. Plus, the owner and many staff members are knowledgeable about local gardening and can give hints.”
“The florist Villere’s was able to come through for me when I needed them. I called up from Chicago for a delivery to a hospital nearby in New Orleans. A family member just had surgery and I needed the flowers delivered. They put together a beautiful arrangement to brighten her day! Thank you.”

“Young lady with the awesome braids at the customer service center fixed my paint problem and then jumped over to paint desk and helped like 6 people at one time. Y'all better hang on to this person. She's a problem solver and great attitude. I think her apron had a J name on it. Wish I had gotten it.”

“Plenty of associates ready to help. Large selection of plants, flowers, yard care, and decorations. The line still backed up due to not many people going to self checkout. Turns out alot of people had items without barcodes and had to be keyed in. *Still Recommended”

2625 Veterans Blvd, Kenner“I was pleased with the service I got at this particular location. I met a employee named Kayla who helped me with any questions regarding plumbing and shower fixtures. She also help me with where to find certain items that I needed, as well as, gave me the information on what I was looking for. She was absolutely pleasant and helpful.”
“Great place to shop. I typically buy all of my supplies and materials from here. Today I am working on a client's yard and needed some river rocks/pebbles. Their selection is typically larger, but today it was limited due to low availability on the shelves.”
6AM - 10PM
5151 Citrus Blvd, Harahan“We just moved to the area and needed a variety of miscellaneous items today to complete small projects. I do not know her last name but Jessica helped me about 5 times with various needs from making keys to telling me where Command Strips were. I don’t think I’ve ever received such non-bothered help in The Home Depot. She was warm and friendly but with a kickass sense of humor which I appreciated while doing the most mundane tasks. Thank you!”
“Not my local HD but a good option when I'm in NOLA. Good selection. Friendly staff, especially at checkout. Despite being a national big box, each store has a unique character so it's interesting to check what's in stock and on sale at different stores.”
“I ordered a Christmas tree from Banting's after seeing an ad online! I usually use a fake tree but wanted to try this! We ordered a 7'-8' tree, it came with FREE delivery and a tree stand!! The day after I placed the order, I was contacted about the delivery date. The tree was delivered today! The person delivering it gave me a call when he was about 30 mins out and when he arrived. He brought the tree in, set it up in the tree stand and took the netting off. He also gave me some pointers on how to keep it lasting longer and looking great! The customer service all around was fantastic and the tree is beautiful! I also felt that the price of the tree, especially considering delivery and tree stand was very reasonable.”
