Did a boat tour with Skip and saw lots of alligators and other wildlife. The staff in the shop are really friendly. After the tour we couldn't get an Uber back to Lafayette and one of the new staff members offered us a ride back. His name was Aiden. I'm from Canada and happy to see that southern hospitality is very real.Definitely check out the tour boat if you want to see alligators.Check it out, eh!

Awesome swamp tour today at McGee’s about 30 mins east of Lafayette, LA. Captain Skip was super welcoming, knowledgeable, and committed to preserving and showing off an incredible unique ecosystem. Plus, he knows where the gators like to hang out. Highly recommend the gator tour with McGees and Captain Skip. You will enjoy it and learn a ton! ??

Captain Ryan took us on a great tour. Air boats are so noisy. Our boat was very comfortable, and very quiet. We had a great view, and Captain Ryan told us several interesting facts about the wildlife.Absolutely the only thing wrong was that it was over too soon.

We did the swamp boat tour with Skip and had an absolutely perfect afternoon. His tour was very informative and funny. We saw several gators, including George, who might be the biggest gator I’ve ever seen in my life. It was so cool to see him just living life out in the wild -not a zoo exhibit.

I called the day before and scheduled a fanboat ride for two people and myself at 9:00am i had to be there at 8:30. I woke up at 5:30 am and wrangled the others and drove there 50 miles. I made it to breaux bridge when i got a call at about 815 saying the capitain had " the fever" and the ride was cancelled. They than offered a swamp boat tour at 10:00 am i asked them what price they than told me their normal rate un discounted. Idk it put a bad taste in my mouth. There are too many outfits outhere offering the same service. Would not reccomend

It was a chilly & cloudy day , so the guide told us that we probably wouldn't see any gators ... And he was right. Still,Skip was very knowledgeable about everything related to the swamp (and despite appearances, it was very well educated), and most of all was very entertaining. Suffice it to say it was a very enjoyable experience, even without seeing Gators

Did not enjoy the tour. Tour guide would get upset when we asked a question. Apparently had a rehearsed speech. Went in December with two small children. Tour guide could have driven slow, but deliberately went fast and we froze our butts off. We paid for 1.5 hours, but got 1 hour. We couldn't wait to get off the boat. Find another outfit. The airboat is overrated. I've had a night to sleep on the experience and can't believe how unprofessional the tour guide in the yellow jacket was. I'm from southern Louisiana and wanted my family to experience a nice time cruising the Atchafalaya, but this guy was a complete A-HOLE. On multiple occasions he let us know how hard his life was, and apparently resented everyone else. Seriously, I'm with my wife, a 10 year old and 6 year old. Stop doing the tour if you are pissed off at the world. Embarrassing. Just want to forget this ever happened.

Papa Noel and his elves were fabulous. The kids were enchanted by the whole experience. The reading of the "Twas the Night Before Christmas", the alligator petting, the cookie sweets, the photo with Papa Noel, seeing wildlife from the boat, singing Christmas songs, and the hands-on ornament creation. Pleasant experience for the grandchildren.

We recently (September 2023) toured the Atchafalaya swamp with Cal of McGees Swamp tours . Our experience was exquisite and well worth the price of admission . Cal is a true Acadian , I mean to the bone. He's knowledgeable of the swamp and it's shows he's a true native swamper. The wild life was plentiful and Cal has a great relationship with the gators . If your considering taking a tour just do it , it's a blast and I guarantee you will want to do it over and over again. By the way Cal, to the lady who stated the Spanish moss and pine apples are distantly related, it's true , just as humans and flies are. Both are plants and both are animals!...thanks for the ride

We saw all types of wildlife. Didn't catch photos of turtles here, but we saw a few. The weather and tour time of day worked out perfectly. Go on the 3p.m. tour in the late summer, early fall if you can. That is when temps make it perfect for gators to warm up in the sunshine because the water is a bit too cold for them.
