They dont have a number you can call, and if you go in person no one opens the door even if employees are inside. I applied online but got no response. So I went to Caddo Shelter, picked out a pet and brought him home 3 days later. As a result their pets take way too long to get adopted. This place needs to be investigated, in my opinion.

This little baby (3-4 weeks old) found us and knew we would love him until we could find a foster home.. I contacted Port City Rescue, not knowing what to expect, and within 30 minutes, I was contacted, and arrangements were made to meet the next day with his new foster family. His name is "Asher" and I think it fits him perfectly.. if you or someone is looking for your new furever baby, I highly recommend Port City Cat Rescue. I believe the adoption fee is only $80 & included spay or neutar, up to date shots and microchips !!!! Wonderful people helping these sweet babies that bad people dump off on the middle of the night to freeze and starve.. thank you, Asher, for finding us & Port City Cat Rescue for saving him !!!

We love Port City and the owner. She truly cares about ALL cats! I highly recommend using them for adoption! We also donate to her as we can. It is great to support local non-profits.*I saw a review of a time response complaint. Please keep in mind that they are a true non-profit. The owners aren't making huge CEO salaries like other big-name non-profits you hear about. They have other jobs to support their lively hood and aren't ignoring requests. Unfortunately, there are not many no kill shelters in the area, so they are doing the best they can! :)

Hands down teerrrrible they are not responsive to the applications. It because of facilities or shelters like this one I give up and have little faith in the system we still have no cat and my 7 year old isnt understanding herself why is it so hard. I don't know what to tell her. Don't waste your time you'll only get frustrated. the reply is it has only been 4 days was enough said for me. I did apply to the wrong facility it doesn't really matter what cat I applied for. I applied. I just want a cat for my kid. Not helpful

I adopted a small girl cat from here about 2 months ago. A few days after we brought her home we noticed her ears were irritating her a lot. We took her to the vet to find out she had SEVERE ear mites that had to have been months old. Earlier this morning my boyfriend discovered a worm coming out of her backside. She has tapeworms and now we have to treat her as well as our other cat. One of my coworkers has also adopted a cat from here and it had severe bowel polyps and still struggles with it today. please check on your cats!! giving people sick cats isn't okay, you have no idea about the financial situation and it would break someone's heart if they had to give up a cat due to medical issues that should've been treated at their rescue.

Me and my husband wanted a kitten and we found amber who we thought was a kitten because of what they posted on there website 10-31-21. Well that’s not what we found when we went to pick up. Walked into petco and found “amber” defensive laying in her own litter box looking pitiful. I felt so bad because she looked stressed and mean. I thought I was getting a little kitten as advertised on their website but This was a full size cat. So I message the agency lady and she was rude and so unprofessional. We wanted to adopt but I will find somewhere else to go. What they have advertised is not what we went in to pick up. I will not recommend them. Here is the convo and picture of the cat. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!! False advertisement !!!

We had lost a kitten that we were supposed to have. She had gotten run over the night before we were supposed to take home from a friend's place. Since she was finally old enough to be away from her mother, we were excited and had everything set up for her and were so devastated when we got the message (RIP Nugget), and just started looking at places to take our minds off the pain. We saw what Port City Cat Rescue was about and immediately knew we would find our cat there. Our application was approved that morning, and we were asked to come take a look at them but couldn't that day. A few days later we did and lo and behold one of our favorite kittens was brought in from her foster. She chose us before we chose her. Immediately curled up in both me and my wife's arms with purrs and muffins. She actually had fallen asleep on my chest as well. There was no doubt that she was the one. She's been great and still enjoys her cuddle times, sometimes a little forcefully ^_~ and just recently learned her new name. She's been nothing short of a perfect match for us, and we can't be more grateful to Port City Rescue and the foster who took care of Estelle (formerly Kit Kat) before she became part of our family. If you're looking for a place to get a cat, this is where to go. The cats get to run around and socialize and are very well taken care of and the staff we interacted with made the process very easy and were awesome. They're even a charity on Amazon Smile, which we both now have as ours. This place may just be one of my favorite places I've been to in the 12 years I've lived in Louisiana, and if it seems like this is a lot and gushing, this place just gets my heart. They save cats from kill shelters, and if they don't get adopted they will always have a home there. If I could give it a million stars I would. Thank you all again for everything you do.
