THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’VE EVER HAD!!!
I ordered a delivery on Total Wine's website today. They it off to DoorDash without my knowledge. DoorDash delivered the wrong items, which I discovered when I opened the package, but the driver had already gone.
Not knowing the order was delivered by DoorDash, I called Total Wine to correct the error - to deliver the correct order and to take back the incorrect one. I was told I had to do this! They could not call DoorDash to retrieve an order once they gave it to them! I was flabbergasted!
I tried to explain that I had not ordered through DoorDash; they made the arrangement! It was Total Wine who needed to be responsible for rectifying the error. (I did not know how DoorDash got involved, much less have a contact phone)-I got nowhere!
I finally asked for DoorDash’s hotline and called them to rectify the situation They were reaching out to Total Wine to reorder. It was supposed to arrive tonight – It hasn't! (Total Wine emailed that it canceled this order!)
I also called Total Wine's national hotline. The Customer Service agent was more helpful than Total Wine’s local manager. An additional customer service rep will follow up directly. I will wait to hear from him/her. But rather than wait any longer, I'm posting the most negative review I can NOW.
This is the first time I’ve ever done this. I prefer to post very positive reviews. But I’m sad and disappointed by the local Total Wine’s unconcerned attitude so I’m letting everyone know. I will also tell all my family and friends to avoid Total Wine completely. There are other wine shops in the area to which I will give my business from here on out.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING TOTAL WINE FOR YOUR HOLIDAY MEALS, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!
IF THEY PASS ALONG YOUR ORDER TO DOORDASH, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RECTIFYING THE ERROR, EVEN IF THEY MADE THE ARRANGEMENT –WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE!
WHEN IT COMES TO TOTAL WINE, HOLIDAY BUYER, BEWARE!

Great prices and decent selections. Just remember, if it says "Spirits Direct," it's probably best to direct your attention elsewhere.

How does an adult get that “kid in a candy shop” feeling? Go to Total Wine.
Have been shopping in Total Wine in several states since 2000. And shop there probably twice a month.
I also have a Costco membership and buy a few beverages from them. Costco has a very limited selection compared to Total Wine.
I’m a cheap drinker and have found Total Wine’s house brands are always good.

Got ID checked by a manager after showing it to an employee and having them scan it. I was USING LA WALLET. YOU CANT FAKE LA WALLET. I was then was told they couldn’t serve me because someone with me forgot their ID. I was buying stuff FOR ME.

What is the deal? Being told on Friday you can’t take an empty box??? Even after you purchase a bottle? Cashier says they are too busy and need all the boxes. So I ask who gets to take boxes? Then she gets an attitude and says take all the boxes you want. Not positive customer service today.

The ONLY reason I still shop here is the low prices. They have a bunch of diva sales people too good to restock shelves and make the price changes. I have yet to get to the register and be charged the advertised price on what I am purchasing. When I saw the Knob Creek and the Woodford Reserve completely out for the third visit in a seven day period. I asked if they were getting any shipments in soon. Two customer service reps looked at their phone and said they have it in stock. They stared at me in disbelief that the shelf was empty. Them when I found someone that would actually make an effort to go get me some Knob Creek he got attitude with me about which whiskey I wanted. I told him both shelves had been empty for three days. If this store didn't have amazing prices they would be out of business.

Total wine always has what I need but today was a bad experience! When I went to check out and woman let me go in front of her. The woman cashier with red dreads asked for my ID and the lady that was behind me ID. I informed the cashier that we were not together. She still waited on the lady’s ID and the lady left her wallet in the card. The cashier stopped my checkout completely to wait on her ID. When I already informed her that we were NOT together. I went to another register to check out. The lady did come back with an ID. There needs to be a better training because that was unacceptable especially when the lady and I did not have a real interaction and we did not walk in together. I hope there is improvement in the future; I do not like to be held hostage at a register because a cashier THINKS I’m buying alcohol for a minor with no evidence.
