My 4 year had his tonsils and adenoids removed along with tubes placed in his ears Monday even though I was nervous about it ,Dr Walton and the staff were so welcoming , warm and sweet .They were also very comforting I can go on ,I'd recommend them to everyone. May God continue to keep them they're truly a blessing my baby is so much better now .

I wish I would’ve read these comments before taking my son for his tubes. The billing dept needs some help.
Arrived early for pre-op, had to wait a little longer than expected for surgery, the surgery itself went well and took no more than 10-15 min tops.
Once finished, my son was handed to me in the middle of a hallway and he was inconsolable after coming to from the anesthesia. The nurse told us we could try to calm him down in a cry room with 15-20 rocking chairs in it. About 5 min of trying to calm him down another family with a crying child came in the room. We decided to leave at around 07:00-07:05, as we were instructed we could do at our own discretion to wait in our car for the pharmacy to open at 07:30.
When we finally received the final invoice, I had to call and request an itemized bill. Once received the itemized bill I noticed a charge for a “post-op room” x2 (15 min intervals). I tried calling to get these charges removed, as we were never in our own post-op room, and was denied. The billing clerk continued on, stating that the nurse had a record of taking my son’s vitals at 0725, long after we had left the hospital. I was informed that they can’t edit the nurses times and was told to deal with it.
If you decide to take your business here, do yourself a favor and take some pictures or videos with time stamps. Not that it will help you getting them to adjust your bill, but maybe if collections try to come at you later down the road.
-side note- Dr. Scallan was great with me and my son.

I've single-handedly paid for at least a wing of this facility with the amount of surgeries i've had at Surgical Specialty Center. I've had (2) ACL's with Dr. Winder, (2) shoulder arthroscopies with Dr. Field, (2) carpal tunnel releases with Dr. Robichaux and a pending hip replacement with Dr. Easton. I was even an inpatient for a couple of nights so i speak from a wealth of experience. I can tell you that this place functions like a well-oiled machine. It is super organized and flows like a finely-tuned assembly line. From the moment you arrive until discharge, everything moves with logic and precision. Every doc, nurse, billing person, etc. i've ever encountered has been excellent and the place is spotless. I will add that i've had a multitude of surgeries and procedures at other places as well due to the theory that my body is composed of parts rejected by a Chrysler plant. Although, i've had great experiences at those places, SSC is my clear preference when it comes to cuttin'.

Do not apply to work here. There is no loyalty to their employees at all. It may be a great place to have a procedure but it is not a great place to work for

The X-ray/Ekg guy named Talon/Tallen was the nicest young man around . He made sure I was comfortable with my Cat scan procedure by taking me to the back the day before and showing me that it isn’t as bad as MRI. Gave me an estimated time on how long the procedure would take and followed through with exactly what he said the next day . He was a big gentle, respectable , young man and I appreciate it !!

Appt scheduled arrived for procedure only to be told my insurance was not accepted. They dropped the ball here my insurance required pre approval for this procedure. Drove in from Livingston, La and had to go back home. Very poor communication.

My surgery went fine. The billing department for Doctor Scallion is absolutely awful. Continuously hounding them before my surgery to get an estimated cost. Constantly being transferred to the wrong department, being told that they don't check until 2 weeks before with insurance companies, I was also told that they needed prior approval for my insurance company and they didn't. Then being told price over the phone and it is quadruple what I was told when I arrive to check in. This facility is obviously not able to follow the law that says that are accurate estimate should be giving before surgery. I have absolutely no idea what I paid for and it is a struggle to try and get any answers. I will never have surgery here again. I will never recommend this facility. At this point their billing department isn't able to do their job and should be fired.

The billing dept is horrible before I had my nasal surgery in march I was told how much my co payment was for anesthesia the facility and the surgeon when I went to have the surgery I paid the fee for each of these services before I went in the back the lady at the front desk told me this was all when I asked her then 2months later get a bill from anesthesia and for the facility again totally over 1000 dollars I’m going to pay but basically I was lied to and I’ll never go here again

This place not only offered amazing personal hospital rooms (each with its own private bathroom), but the waiting accommodations for guests is also roomy and comfortable. The hospital staff was friendly and attentive And we were pleased with the doctors and nurses which is probably the most important thing if you’re getting surgery done! They have an awesome café downstairs that’s open for breakfast and lunch. They have daily specials and also a full regular menu ….along with the normal café to-go items like muffins, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc.
