I’m new in town. I’m a physician with 20 years experience with pharmacies as a patient and a provider. Right after getting settled in I wanted to find a small, family owned pharmacy like we had in Florida.Our experiences at the big chain pharmacies were generally not positive. We adored our family owned pharmacy in Florida. They always had our rxs on time and did it with care and respect. So when this one shows up, Prescriptions to Geaux, it’s gotta be a great pharmacy and one for my whole family.So my first refill from PCP was super easy and absolute no brainer.The second rx which was truly a life saving medicine for me was sent in from my doctor out of state. When I called to see if it was ready, they said “we don’t carry those drugs.” All right, I thought no big deal, I’ll just rearrange my whole plan and ended up getting it at Walgreens..Fast forward one week later: I have a new rx from my local doctor for a very important treatment. I take it to pharmacy to Geaux and the pharmacist tells me, “we only carry these drugs for a certain number of our own special customers, and we don’t get these for anyone else.” I just stood there silent. I finally caught on..This pharmacy stocks and sells essentially only the drugs they want to (which incidentally includes medical marijuana).I was stunned. The pharmacist didn’t even try recommended another pharmacy to serve me.As a patient, I felt like they didn’t care at all about me. As a physician, I think it’s dangerous and unethical to select drugs they only want to carry. WHO are they to decide which drugs are needed. That's between the doctor and the patient.I have never seen this happen in over 20 years. And to think…Walgreens actually came to my rescue! They took care of both of these rxs without any issues….So if you need a pharmacy that doesn’t select which drugs they feel like carrying, AVOID prescriptions to Geaux!Definitely try Walgreens or CVS. Presciptions to Geaux, gives the small family owned pharmacies a bad name.

TJ and his staff are amazing, totally up on technology and always fill the prescription in the best possible way. Couldn't recommend them enough. Work with them, they're fantastic.

The pharmacist was extremely rude. I had two forms of insurance but after filling there for 5 months she caught me as I was picking up my refill and stated that I would no longer be able to get my prescription with them due to the cost to their pharmacy. Really? Every time I went in there she treated me like I was less than and had remarks about the medications I was taking. Take your business elsewhere.

A+++ service at both locations every time! I cannot brag enough about this place to people! I don’t even bother with big name pharmacies anymore. Not worth the hassle.
