There’s no sense of urgency I started a business loan process with one of the agents on September 25. It’s now October 30 and we still haven’t gotten anywhere. I email I call and get no response. Only when I called the 800 number and speak to someone else, and they call her, do she call me back. We got no where with the process, and after sharing all my tax returns, social security number,bank statements, etc just to get no results

As a small business, I came to Pelican because I heard they were small business friendly. Apparently their NEW policy is to hold ALL checks, no matter the amount, for 5 to 7 business days. As a small business, I'd spend too much time doing this and losing my customers. They did say I could contact them on each check but if I deposit a large amount of checks, then I have to contact them on each and every one. Not to mention, if because of having to contact them on each one, I get busy and can't and end up in overdraft then I have to deal with that. I could understand on large checks over $1,000 but a check for $25, $50. $100 or even $500?

’ll assume that I am an inconvenience to Faith Jones who has been passive aggressive and rude during my short time with the credit union. I was referred to Pelican by a friend who recommended their credit counseling services. I only opened an account because she insisted that they truly were a great choice. However, after having to reschedule my initial consultation due to a death in my family and some other work matters, Faith gave me the immediate impression that I had wasted her time. I left several voicemails to reschedule and she never returned any of my calls. I then attempted to contact her via email to reschedule and asked for a more up to date number that I could call since she never answers and she, in so many words, told me that her number is at the bottom of her email so I should already have it. She ignored more of my calls repeatedly since. Furthermore, she continued to tell me that she had other consultations that requires her attention and never emailed or called me back since. I called the branch to request a different counselor because of my negative experience and I was assured that they would reassign me and give me a call that same week. Well that never happened. Moral of the story, take your customer service somewhere of which you won’t feel like a burden to those who are in position to help you.

Best decision ever! I joined PelicanStateCU a little over a month ago and let me tell you, Pelican has been very helpful! I am going through fraud on my account right now and they made the process super easy and rest assured me that I would be taken care of! I am so happy and will always recommend Pelican to all my family and friends. ?

I love Pelican! No matter whether I'm seeking a loan, dealing with a scam, or just withdrawing cash, the staff are friendly and helpful. It's difficult for me to understand the negative reviews, as I've been a member for over 40 years! Love the website as well..

Always an issue coming here. Always an issue with receiving bills in the mail. Always awful attitudes. Save yourself and go to neighbors. Also took my chase business card and went to the back with it. Not comfortable when I'm literally here to pay a bill at the front per usual.

Hey I’m Jamar Newton and I am rating a 5 star wish I could give a 10 star rating. I am so stoked within the cooperate of and members services . I will be really blunt that I’ve experienced the best customer service that I’ve had in years from Mrs. Rebecca and Mrs. Penny from Pelican State Credit union and I will say that every question I asked there was a answer and for every problem addressed there was a solution so I am very grateful for the opportunity that I had today and speaking with the team members that were so helpful and supportive to me. Thanks and best wishes to you both in the future.

Not the friendliest people. Definitely need to offer customer service classes to their lobby employees. They really don't know how to talk to customers. I was going to transfer my accounts here but not after the rather cold attitudes I've received at this place. I will say that Megan was super nice and helpful. Maybe she can teach a customer service class????

Awful practices regarding loan approvals. Loan rep was very rude. She asked my husband if he even had the down payment money for auto loan. When he said yes, she asked if was in cash. He said yes and then she asked him where did he get that type of cash. Very awful ,because we are members and we keep thousands in our account. This credit union is not self employed friendly for credit. My experience spelled poor customer service and racially biased loan representatives.

They're friendly, but don't expect to get anywhere if you're low income, and bad credit. Your prior on time, never late, and paid off consolidated means absolutely zero They offered me another debt. It was rather laughable. Like thank you sir, would you like more debt? The point was to consolidate not go further into debt. I'm in Louisiana though so what else should I expect. Stay down peasant! I went in with the expectation of what I could pay. It was free money on the table for them. Sure not in one lump sum but over time. I know the prior credit union made their money. Unfortunately it back fired in hopes that this time because I had proven myself prior that this time I wouldn't be given a partial or laughable offer. I got the laughable but offer but I certainly wasn't going to accept that anymore than a partial. Ah well. You win some, you lose some. Try if you must. If you have money I'm sure you'll be shown the golden gates, but if you don't. You'll be shown crumbs and be a fool you might accept.

Bank with a different establishment. If you go here, depending on how you "appear", they may not assist or acknowledge your presence, no matter how long you have been waiting in line. But will however skip you for the next person who "looks like them". They also will not return calls from negative experience. There are credit unions out there who actually care. This isn't one of them.

I was painfully mis-informed with my previous review and have edited this review appropriately due to my own accord:Only two drive through lanes at this massive location. Other; much smaller locations have four lanes and get backed up for quite some time, will be interesting to see what happens at this location in coming months with the closest other branch being closed on weekends now.For being on O'Neal lane this location is quite east to enter and exit. Less than one minute from the interstate and also a very beautiful property.Last but not least. Thank you Pelican for correcting me on the information I was wrong about. I've been banking here for years and have had only a few problems.
