Horrible experience tonight. It should be a tell when a doctor refuses to say who they are. Extremely condescending and borderline hateful. You would think it pained them to answer a question. All those girl bosses just can't make time to explain anything to us lowly folks. Truly disgusting. I can not rate them low enough. If this is the future, veterinary medicine is dead.

I have no respect for any organization that will let a dog die because your in between jobs and don’t have 1000 cash. They turned me away while my dog is in distress and one of her puppies heart rate is dropping. Is this the best humanity can do.

I have brought in my 18 year old cat here for 2 different major problems in the last 2 months and LSU Vet Med did an outstanding job of taking care of him. My first time here was with Internal Medicine for a radioiodine treatment to cure his hyperthyroidism which was successful. They called me each day while he was boarded to let me know how he was doing. My second and most recent encounter was bringing him into Oncology for radiation treatments for the past month. All of the students, techs, residents, and doctors for both treatments were super kind and reassuring. I cannot thank them enough for giving my cat the best treatment possible.

Brought in an injured stray cat. They made an effort to fully explain his condition and worked with me to limit the cost of the visit. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

There are positives and negatives about SVM's hospital and ER. Some of my experiences have been good, some not so good. The latest was not so good. It should be a routine practice to let people waiting in the ER know what's going on with their patients. It could be as simple as relating that the patient is stable, resting, and waiting while more critical patients receive care. One shouldn't have to ask after waiting 2 hours only to find that one's pet has been set aside in a cage with no treatment in spite of the fact that it was suffering significant pain and discomfort. It was equally disconcerting to hear that no one knew why the dog was there in the first place, since the notes that had gone back with it were missing. When people arrive at an ER, they are generally as distressed as their pets. A little bit of courtesy and information can go along way to keeping everyone one an even keel and focused on the patient.

The LSU Vet School has knowledgeable doctors who are great at breaking down vet care in ways that are easy to understand. I feel confident that my animals are getting good care when I take them to the vet school
