Incredible care and excellent communication! They made a very stressful colic surgery experience as positive as possible and cared for both horse and owner. Could not recommend more highly!

The staff was very professional and informative with the care of the horse. The waiting area was not very comfortable for us having to stay 10 hours, but the equine care is great. We look forward to the 1 time a day updates from the vet to see the progress.
If you must bring your horse in for surgery, make sure you bring your cell phone charger and your wallet. The cost is very high for the care and you must put a large deposit for the care.
This being said, I recommend looking for equine insurance for your proformace horses, it shure helped us out!

Good emergency hospital with caring doctors. Recommend if your vet is closed and needs to see a vet.

Accident prone goat has been here twice. Most recently she had a broken leg again. I really appreciate how the Vet teaching the students put a cast on her 3 different times bc he wasn't happy with the outcome and wanted the best for her. Everyone was understanding and explained the procedures and her aftercare with expertise.

Ten star service, knowledgeable efficient staff, amazing doctors, sanitized well ventilated barn and reasonable price. Brought horse with slice through the neck. Local vet had treated for a week but recommended LSU to make certain it was healing properly. Vet tech was waiting in 100 degree heat to unload horse (a great comfort after I-10). Dr. Mitchell showed me the wound and procedure in great detail, they removed stitches, cleaned wound, installed a new drain system, stapled the wound, gave detailed instructions for care, sold me the appropriate medicine and loaded horse up in good order. Their medical knowledge and communication skills are fantastic. I’m waiting on the culture results to see if an antibiotic change is needed. The barn is sanitized and well ventilated. It felt 15 degrees cooler. No one enters without sanitizing their boots. A real person answers the phone after one quick recording. Lastly, the price was reasonable. I heard it was the best care in the state but was hesitant to go there because I’ve heard it was way over-priced. Not so.

DO NOT bring your pets to be cremated here. I have no idea what their process is, but it took us 6 weeks to get our dog back after being told it would take a week, then 2-4 weeks, then 4-6 weeks. We tried to move him after the first week and bring him to the very sweet gentleman with Four Paws Cremation Service who said he'd personally go get our pup from them and have him back to us in 3-4 days, but they told us the "process had already been started" and that wasn't an option. Still took 5 more weeks to finally get him back, only to find that they didn't even do the paw print we asked (and paid) for. They said they'd look into it and we never heard back from them. This was the most horrible experience on top of the nightmare of losing a pet. RUN, don't walk, away from this place.

Recently I had to make a hard decision to let go of a pet for not easy reasons. I consulted Dr. Moreno, one of the veterinarians who had treated one of my other dogs, because I wasn't sure whether I was making the proper choice. He was a godsend and provided me with valuable advice and support. I knew what I had to do, but at first I couldn't bring myself to bring her in. I waited for a very long time--longer than I should have, at the expense of another pet--and eventually had to see a different veterinarian. I was concerned that she would think I was a bad person for making this choice but instead she was what I can only describe as an angel that was sent to me that day. She said that she could see I hadn't made the decision lightly, which meant so much and when I decided I couldn't be present during the process she didn't make me feel like a monster. I cannot speak for everyone since I have only dealt with Dr. Sacshe and Dr. Moreno but they were the epitome of excellence and compassion and credits to their profession and whoever trained them.

My horse injured himself late on a Friday night. Every person I interacted with was compassionate, knowledge, and efficient. My horse had the absolute best care possible, and I'm grateful for the professionalism and compassion shown by the all involved in my horse's care.
