From Capital Area Animal Welfare Society
The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) is the first and only NO-KILL non-profit organization/shelter committed to the well-being of animals in the Baton Rouge community by providing for and facilitating the adoption of homeless animals, teaching the community responsible companion animal ownership and the humane treatment of animals, and at all times promoting the practice of spay/neuter. CAAWS is NOT part of any animal control branch of the government, including Companion Animal Alliance (CAA) and East Baton Rouge Animal Control (EBRAC). We do not provide animals to any entity for research purposes.
