VeryRUDE !!!!! They called the police on me because I was sitting in their parking lot making a list and checking wood plank prices on my phone ! police Were very rude~ the Blond police lady WAS the absolute worst and searched my vehical! they had all of My doors open (Lightson) and the truck has a bad battery-so my truck wouldn't start after they were done harassingme-SoI asked the officer for a jump-and Of course they ignored me, asked if I had a ride as they were walking Off! -ALL THIS just Sitting in a Giant Lot! Gee- wiz I didn't know that was illegal! So if you go for more Than, about35 min, I-would leave!

Prices are better than Lowes and Home Depot. The staff was amazing and friendly. You could tell the employees actually liked their jobs. Would definitely recommend.

Went to buy a Scott's Broadcast spreader, there were several that were identical but with 2 different prices. A floor person was assisting me with the price discrepancy, she called someone to clarify and someone approved the lower price. When I got to the cashier another manager showed up and said she would not approve the lower price but that she would give me a small discount, I went somewhere else and paid a higher price for the item but the attitude was very comforting..

Website said there were 6 of the item I needed in stock so when I get there the shelf is empty, so I went to the service desk showed the guy behind the counter my phone showing 6 in stock. He checked the inventory on their computer and it also showed 6 but the nice lady helped me look and there were none, I wonder if they fixed the inventory. I go to that store pretty often bc its closer to my house but I really think new management is needed there.

I always shop at the Alexandria Southerlands instead of Lowes or Home Depot because all the employees are so helpful and don't treat me like someone that doesn't know what they are doing just because I'm a female. I purchase lumber for different projects and if I go in other stores like Lowes or Home Depot the employees for the most part treat me differently, like I shouldn't be there buying lumber by myself. Never feel like that at Southernlands in Alexandria!

I stopped in an emergency attempt to find four small propane bottle torches. The store is huge and the aisles are not clearly marked, the customer service representatives told me to go to aisle five. I was wondering around the store and found a nice lady to help me and she took me to where the propane torches were and assisted me with my purchases. Her smiling face made me feel good. If I lived in Alexandria I would shop here.
