I want to say that this business was the only business in town willing to help me feed the homeless this last Christmas. I went to them, told them I was looking to make soup (with from scratch stock) to hand out on Christmas day. The owner offered to donate all of the meat and bones, without hesitation. He also offered to hand out fliers and collect donations, if any were offered, for me. I ended up making 105 half quarts of soup with my husband's help and 4 volunteers helped Christmas day to get them handed out in Louisville. Thank you Taylorsville Butcher Block! I couldn't have done it without you.

The lady taking in our deer was very helpful but when I returned the next day, I was given meat that had already frozen solid in less than 24hrs and received only 1/3 of the meat that we should have gotten. I’m thinking I got someone else’s meat. I was very disappears will never use them or recommend them.174# field dressed deer gave me 18-20# of meat…not possible.

Excellent product at fair price. Bought a full sirloin and ribeye at a price point that gets you back in store. On fault is they were to busy to take a future order for more. Will definitely be back

I do not recommend this place at all for several reasons.1. First time customer and dropped a deer off to be processed. Simple order of jerky and it was horribly too dehydrated and unseasoned. Even asked for options of seasoning in which I was told there were none. None the less, I figure normal jerky would have some form of flavor when processed. Not the case. Too dehydrated and smelled horrible, tasted horrible, and no flavor.2. The amount of jerky I got out of the deer isn’t equivalent to the weight of meat I should have received. I feel like a good portion of my deer was missing considering the extremely thin sliced and extremely horrible jerky.3. The prices stated to process your deer is not the amount you will pay when you pick up either. You’re hit with more cost at pick up and they’re practically selling you back the meat you provided.4. The smell is very concerning. While waiting you can look around and see the spoiled meat in the lobby with discoloration and several flies flying around. You will quickly become nervous and suspect of the quality of meat you’re getting from this place.It was extremely disappointing to try a local place instead of sticking with a place I have to drive farther to reach just to experience this. I feel like I wasted my deer and money and was ripped off. Never again.

I have always loved butcher block in Taylorsville. We were there this morning and got a whole rib eye. 7.99 a pound. 2 hours later, they are 5.99 a pound a special sale. They knew they were putting them on sale. We drove 40 miles to go there. Why didn't they tell us? It's very low as far as I'm concerned. We will not shop here anymore. We will drive to Bargtown. They have an awesome butcher there at great prices too.

After several times of having meat processed by them and several screw ups and several times of being overcharged for items we didn’t want, we gave them one last chance. We purchased a whole hog, we ended up with half a hog so missing half of our order. It took 3 days just to be able to talk to a “supervisor”. We did finally get half of our money back. But now as we are opening our “mild sausage” it is actually just ground pork with zero seasonings. This place is a joke, the employees have no idea what they are doing, even the employees complain about it. We have spent a lot of money at this place and will never be back.

Saw this place on Facebook and decided to make the drive and check it out. I can't tell you about the quality of the meat because when we walked in the smell of rancid meat about knocked me down. Did not purchase anything and won't ever come back.

If I could give this place a -5 Stars I would. We had a full Steer done here. They pulled the meet from the cooler and loaded it into our coolers and placed them in the bed of the truck. Once we got home and opened the coolers, the smell of decay was overwhelming. Over 400lbs of hamburger lost because of their poor work. Guess we should have looked more into them because we would have seen their USDA was suspended. Tried to call and see if the owner would make it right, told us he had nothing to do with it and even stated it could have been what the steer was eating. Then, of course he got mad and hung up. DON"T make the same COSTLY mistake we did and don't go here.

Amazing customer service and good product. We drive out just to get the sausage! It is the best. Prices are good and we will be back soon!
