Nice place with nice staff. We quickly learned why people love it here. Just get the wasp nest out of the hippos belly at the playground ?

Callie and her staff do an amazing job at making sure everyone has the best experience possible while staying at the campground. My two girls have quickly become attached to Callie and love going to the store to get treats and souvenirs. If I get in my vehicle on a Thursday or Friday afternoon, my phone automatically asks me "do you want to navigate to Callie's?". That's how much we love it there.

Made reservations almost a month in advance, arrived on given day and could not level our RV on a very unlevel lot couldnt even get our steps to come out as they hit gravel. Tried to move the RV around for over an hour and finally went to the store to inform them of our trouble. We were told they had no other space for us, so we had no choice but to leave. This was NOT our choice, they did not deliver what they had promised, yet no refund, or even a partial refund was offered. 3 years being full time on the road, this was a first such experience, and their lack of concern made us not happy.
.UPDATE Callie and I have talked and our issues have been resolved.

The good;
- Nice sized sites well spaced apart. You're definitely not packed in tight.
- Well maintained and clean grounds with brand new picnic tables.
- RV pads look newly refreshed and EZ to get into.
- On-site restaurant / store with a fair selection.
- The lake's good for fishing and swimming
- Short drive to lots of attractions (ORV trails, Daniel Boone National Forest, fishing, hiking and more)
- Plenty of RV, group and, primitive sites
- Enjoyed the bands playing at the pavilion
- Staff was really nice and very accommodating
The not so good;
- $5 charge for waste water dump out. Maybe build it into the cost of the RV sites without waste water.
- Too many street lamps in the RV area for my liking.
Our visit;
- We stayed at Callie's for 8 days and had a great time. Our Grandkids loved playing in the lake and at the playground. When full, the campground was fairly quiet with no drama. The dogs were even well behaved. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant but even the locals we spoke to recommended their BBQ, ribs, and pizza. This will definitely be on our "stay again" list

We camped in a travel trailer in site 8. It was private and the favorite of many of the staff. We enjoyed breakfast from the store and picked up a few souvenirs. It’s a great campground minutes from all Red River Gorge has to offer.

Had a good time. The campsite was nice and clean. The only thing I think needs improvement is the cost of a 1 night stay with an electric hookup. Primitive camping is $10 a night, whereas the campsite 30 ft away with an electrical hookup was $50
Nearby activities: Great location, close to Red River Gorge.

Came in from Indiana and was new to the area. Camped in a 40' Class A. Our campsite was clean, and everyone was super friendly! Had lots of tips on where to go and how to get there. Thank you for a great vacation!

Had a wonderful time at the 7th Annual KTTR event hosted here. The camp ground is spacious with lots of great primitive camping sites. Good fishing in the pond. There are also RV and camper sights available with electric and water.
This is my favorite campground in the RRG.

Paid $100 to camp (in tents) 2 nights.. Once you pay they give you a map to your site.. Well, we asked for a shady spot bc my sister has COPD and can not tolerate extended stays in the sun, that being said...Once we found our site it was in the wide open sun, no shade for at least 200' and it was a mere dirt mound!! Couldn't drive stakes in the ground because it was pure bedrock and hard compacted dirt. We let the owners/operators know that we needed a different spot, was told the girl who done that wouldn't be back for over an hour and so we just demanded a refund!! Do Not Recommend!!!!
