Parking: Most of the parking lot is on a hill. It's not much of a slope but will be somewhat difficult for those with balance problems.

My porkchops were perfectly fried, had terrific greens and a huge baked potato. The chocolate pie was perfect. Great iced tea!! If you order anything and aren't pleased, they will make it right! My go-to, homecooked meal. Never disappointed. Always worth the drive to the country!!!!

Easily the best fried chicken I've had in awhile. Love the old school feel of this joint. Felt like family, make sure you try their cobbler!

Best fried chicken in Kentucky! Lacey was a great server and made excellent recommendations. Salad/Blue cheese dressing and the whole onion rings were great. Had a combo dinner and had to take food home. The wife ordered Cherry Cobbler as dessert, wow! Our 1st time here....hope to return!

When I find an exceptional restaurant I write a long review. This review is long. Keep reading, you'll like this place too.My family have been regular customers for thirty years. Our Best Restaurant is unique, nothing else like it anywhere. It's basic Southern home style. Maybe it'll remind of your grandma's kitchen if she was a really good cook and fixed meals for a big family.Entrees may include pork chops, country ham, fried chicken, meatloaf, fried catfish, pot roast, fried chicken livers, pork tenderloin, hot roast beef sandwich, Swiss steak, country style fried oysters, fried or grilled Alaskan whitefish, grilled chicken breast, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, and a vegetable plate. Not all of these will be available on a given day. Various entrees may be offered as daily specialsA variety of sandwiches are offered, some may be hot sandwich versions of other entree items. There's a menu for the kids and it's a very kid friendly place.A large selection of side dishes are available. Some, like Lima beans, kale greens, fried apples, pinto beans, broccoli casserole and pickled beets are not commonly offered elsewhere. More common sides, like mashed potatoes, green beans, steak fries and such are offered as well. The menu offers salads and appetizers, and sometimes soups too. Bean soup is a regular menu item. The best features are probably desserts. Pies, cobblers and sometimes cake and other delicious things are made daily. They sell out of some desserts, so I usually ask the server to save my favorite for me when I order my meal.Servings are large and food quality good. The staff are friendly, experienced, prompt and efficient. Most are local residents, some have worked here for years. The restaurant is family owned and managed. Kenny Way and his son Aric know the regular customers and treat all their patrons like family. The atmosphere is appropriate for the menu. Old time, no frills, comfortable and inexpensive. One large rustic dining room, one smaller dining room and two cozy little dining rooms, all adjoining. Flexible table arrangements can accommodate groups.Group size limits may apply and I suggest you call ahead for a large group.Basic furniture, and a few artifacts of the Twentieth Century for accent. Century old well worn original wood floor. If your table wiggles a little, move it a few inches and it'll be still. The floor may be uneven, but it's solid. Not too bright or too dim, not too warm or too cool. Not too noisy for conversation. No background music. You may notice the sound of an occasional truck or farm tractor rumbling past. The complete opposite of a sports bar.And no bar, they don't serve alcoholic beverages. No television, no WiFi, and some mobile networks aren't always available. Hey, you're at a nice restaurant in the country, go offline long enough to enjoy your meal and have a meaningful conversation with your family or friends. The patrons represent a cross section of America. Many are local, but this place has earned a reputation and some people come from many miles away. You will often see families with three or more generations together.A few decades ago it was the custom to pin your business card on the wall. After a while there were so many cards covering every inch of the walls that it became a fire hazard and the practice is now discouraged. A representative selection has been relocated out of reach and thousands of others were removed. There's plenty of free parking.Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted. The entire indoor facility and entrance are wheelchair accessible. Some parking areas are sloping, however there are adequate reserved spaces in the level area of the parking lot with good access to the entrance. This facility closes every year a few days before Christmas and remains closed until sometime around the second week of January so the employees can enjoy time with their families. The exact dates vary each year. Please click the " thumbs up" icon if you like this review.
