Being at the gallery at Christmas time is a special treat. It's beautiful.

Visiting the Gallery today as my wife and I have for several years now during the holiday season I was enjoying all the decorations and trying to decide on something to purchase as we have for years now I went to an upper floor not noticing the signs to go another direction I was approached by woman that told me I was going the wrong way. I told her I was observing the decorations and did not notice the sign. There were no other people around, so I wondered why my going an opposite way was making such a difference. She continued to follow us as if we were going to steal something, making snide remarks along the way. Needless to say my wife and I did not purchase anything and will not go back to this establishment. This one incident will stay with me forever, will be loved visiting this place this one bad experience with kept us from ever going there again.Dr. D. Owens

I have been visiting here since I was a kid. It is a must see location, full of history. With it decorated for Christmas currently, it is beautiful. Each room has something special too see. The restaurant is an added bonus.

The Science Hill Auctions belong to the Wakefield-Scearce Gallery.---I received the painting quite smoothly (overseas shipment), however the painting was damaged. The auctioneer described the painting in "fair condition", actually, the painting is ready for the reastauration!I contacted the auction house and first they tried to blame the UPS store for damages. After I told them that the damages can be seen on their original photos, they asked me: "Did you not look at the first image before you bid?"I replied: "My obligation is to take a deep look regarding the auction. Your obligation is to be descriptive as much as possible. "After I asked one more time: "WHY DIDN'T YOU DESCRIBE THE DAMAGE?", they did not reply any more:-(I will never auction such a sum when I knew the painting is damaged!

I tell you what, if they had food this good in Louisville, I don't know where to find it. this was one of the most amazing experiences and welcoming ambiance we have ever seen anywhere. The food was the most creative take on southern cooking we had ever seen, and wondered who came up with such and amazing menu. we cant wait to come back very soon.

Quite possibly one of the greatest dining experiences of my life. Grace was our server and made the experience unforgettable with her welcoming charm. She was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. the food was extremely creative and well prepared. I ordered the pork chop entree and honestly, it's the best I have ever had anywhere. My wife had the baby back ribs as a starter and we were blown away with the unique preparation. Our cocktails were also top notch. The speed of service and the humor from the bartender rounded out the experience to make for the perfect Valentine's night out. If you haven't been to the red lion, you are missing out on a truly special experience.

Went for Valentine's Day, food was very good, people and service were excellent. Just couldn't justify the amount for the portions. I had the $75 Land and sea and left hungry.

The smashburger and fries were delicious. My friend ordered the chicken Caesar salad and she said it was wonderful as well. However, I gave only 4 stars overall due to little things like being told no complementary bread was available (?!) when we asked for some, so nothing to munch on while we waited for our food. Also, no working restrooms that day; and entrance to the dining room requires negotiating two steps which would be a problem for some people.

We had the short rib risotto, filet and a side order of Brussels sprouts all of which were excellent. My only gripe was that all items were incorrectly priced on the menu, leading to small surprise when our check was delivered. Other than that, a fantastic experience!

I can't rave enough about The Red Lion at Science Hill. We went for Sunday brunch and not only was it delicious, the staff went out of their way to accommodate my son who has dietary restrictions. Great food! Great atmosphere! FANTASTIC customer service.

I loved the building and history. The dining room was a little chilly. It was a buffet and the food was on hot plates in pots. The food was cool, not even warm. The bill for 2 people ( no alcohol) was almost $100. There was an 18% buffet tax, state tax and sales tax. I was very disappointed.

Very nice experience. Lovely old building. Exceptional architecture. Did not like being taxed twice! Shelbyville applies a restaurant tax. Overall great experience and would recommend.

Our server Corey B was fantastic! Attentive and efficient without being intrusive. The double smash burger was so big I couldn't finish it all after sharing an appetizer. The blood orange old fashioned was as delightful as the entire experience. The only downfall was how cold the ladies restroom was.

Love this restaurant, food amazing. Staff great. Only issues was we were sitting next to the kitchen which was very noisy with the help talking very loud trying to maneuver around our chairs.
