My visit with Dr. Thompson was excellent. I learned so much about my horse and ways to make his life healthier. My horse had cellulitis and Dr. Thompson was very thorough in educating me on how he probably got it and how to prevent it. My horse is recovering very well. I can't thank Dr. Thompson enough. I recommend him to anyone who needs an equine vet.

Super helpful and informative! Dr. Thompson spent so much time with me today in the barn, caring for our three horses! He never made me feel rushed or as if he didn’t have time to be throughout. I highly recommend Dr. Thompson as well as Melissa whom takes care of his schedule. She also was very understanding when I needed help. For being a novice horse owner, he educated me during the process and informed me on how to better their health. ***** five stars for me! *****

The Thompson’s have always been reliable dependable people! From when they were first called out to an emergency situation when I was in the 5th grade to when they euthanized my childhood horse my junior year of highschool, they have always been precessional, quick, reliable, and very thorough with my family’s and I’s horses!

Chris and/or Melissa are always available, kind, knowledgeable, and amazing horse people. They were recommended to me when I moved to Shelbyville from Iowa.....I am so glad I took that advise. The practice is small which allows plenty of time getting help, instructions, meds, whatever is needed. I recommend enthusiastically.

Excellent care for a most reasonable price! Dr. Thompson has been helping us to be better horse owners for the past 2years, and always takes the time to answer questions and educate us in a way you can relate to. Love them!!

My family has the highest respect for Dr. Thompson and his staff. He has helped us get through some of the worst situations you can have with animals. Every time we have needed his service with our horses, he has always been there for us and the horses. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Thompson is prompt his diagnosis and treatment is always accurate, he shows a great deal of compassion, explains everything that needs to be done to correct the problem and makes it happen. He is a true professional and a caring human being. Dr. Thompson will be my vet for life. I rarely write reviews, but I had two situations recently that I needed him for and he was just amazing and got us through it. I can't thank him enough, but I can tell you I will support his practice and recommend him to everyone I know! Thank you Dr. Thompson and staff! You are the best!

Dr. Thompson was on call this past weekend on the 4th of July and I had a very colicky mare. He came out to the farm extremely fast & had several treatments going by the time I arrived at the farm, and was extremely kind and seemed to really care about my mare's well-being. Melissa stayed in touch with me the whole afternoon as I had questions, and they followed up several times to check on her. I was also pleasantly surprised by the bill - wayyy lower than what I expected for an emergency visit & treatments. Thank you all so much for your help! Will definitely be using this place again.

We have used Dr Chris Thompson and his wife and assistant, Melissa, since we began our small boarding/riding lesson barn in Frankfort, Ky in 2008. They are a fantastic pair, and whatever work/support is done it is always top-notch. Can't say enough good things about them, hope they're around for many more years (because our horses live LONG lives...).
