I received a Mother cat and kittens for foster care from this Shelter and I was very impressed with how clean the cat room was. The Animal Control Officer working that day was very knowledgeable about all the cats in the room, and gave me a colorful background on many of them. She was very kind with the animals and even helped me to my car. I would definitely recommend this Shelter if you are looking for a pet to adopt.

Adopted a dog. They told me she was good around cats. They told me she was 2 years old and weighed 30lbs. Her paper work said she was 1 and weighed 53 lbs. They told me for safety reasons I need to return her wouldn't be a problem. When the dog took after one of my cats and bit me I returned her. They were rude wouldn't even look at me. Very hateful. They wouldn't let her keep her toys. Very nasty 2 women that work there.

The staff just don't g.a.f. They'll read your messages and ignore you.If these people actually cared for animals they would be trying harder to get them adopted.

Top notch staff and excellent facilities. One of the best shelters in the state!

We put in an application on a Saturday and was told they’d call us on Tuesday since it was Labor Day weekend to let us know about the adoption the guy had told us we were the only applicant for that dog, I called Tuesday and was told she had been adopted. A simple call to let me know would been nice. Shelter lacks communication, also would only let us meet 1 dog which was recommended by shelter staff.

Same thing as above. Rude and uncaring on phone and in person when trying to find out infoOr adopt a dog. I hope they treat the dogs abd cat’s better.

Adopted a cat. Really nice people. Shelter was clean. These folks really care about the dogs and cats. They want to see them get a good home. They do have rules that must be followed. If that bothers some folks then look elsewhere. Don't leave them a bad review because they are doing their job.

We applied for a 6 month old puppy who was so timid with no socialization skills. We even had our son's dog introduced to her. She responded well even ran around a little bit more. We were denied because we did not have a fence. My husband is retired she would never be alone to put in a crate and would be taken out on a leash!! To say I am heartbroken is an understatement. This poor puppy will continue to cower in the back of the shelter for God knows how long. So instead of a loving home she remains there.

I went because I was interested in a Cane Corso mix listed on their site. They said he was already adopted. I found another I was interested in and they basically wouldn't let me meet him, saying he had behavior issues. Why did they have him on their site if they didn't want to adopt him out? How bizarre. Then they suggested I go to a shelter that "specialized in small dogs" when the dog I went in wanting to adopt was probably over 100 pounds. These people were absolutely bizarre and should not be charged with caring for animals. I also read that other women have had similar experiences which doesn't surprise me at all. I doubt those ignorant bumpkins would try to tell man he needed to get a small dog.

Helped to choose and offered a cat for adoption, only for them to say that she had not yet been spayed when another employee had recommended her for our household. Very unprofessional. Also tried to give as many reasons as possible not to adopt.

Adopted a cat last week from this shelter. Very nice staff and easy process. We came home to find knots all in the cats fur, causing major hair loss, due to the staff not brushing the cat. A few days later we discover that the cat has fleas. Very sad how these animals are neglected. Glad we can find him a home and clean up our new cat.

We applied for adoption of a dog named Bear. My husband was introduced to the dog and became acquainted with him and really liked the dog. They took our paperwork and was to check us out. They said it would be a couple of days and they would get back to us. We waited and waited for our acceptance and eventually called 13 days later and was told he was sent to a rescue. In my opinion they should have called us and informed us of this happening. So much for a community service who does not follow up with their applicants. I hope they treat the animals better than the people who try to adopt
