Went to the emergency room this past Sunday for dizziness. ( I had been dizzy for 4 days and couldn't handle it anymore) They didn't take my temperature the first time I was there 3 hours. My body left a sweat print on the bed from lying there so long. They took blood work, ct scan and a urine analysis. The only thing they told me was that I had a kidney infection and my thyroid was out of whack (which I'm on medication for) they didn't tell me anything about the ct scan or my bloodwork. They wrote me antibiotics and sent me home. I still have dizziness and went to seek a second opinion. If you want to waste your time this is the place to go.

The State should shut them down for negligence and cruelty. Our loved one was verbally assaulted, by a nurse (Stephanie Diamond) on floor 8 and others from floor 7 .We were on the phone and heard it , but my sister inlaw insisted it wasn't the only time or the only person, slamming doors being sarcastic and demeaning . We communicated with the charge nurse that we were ready to contact the police! The director of Nursing doesn't answer the phone and messages were full. Nothing improved, ugly behavior, and basic neglect continued . Our loved one had to beg for anything she requested. She received unnecessary treatment, and was denied what was important. When she complained she wasn't getting what the Dr. Prescribed, the nurse s told her she was confuse. Someone took her medication several times. They threatened her, with death in the ICU , also other frightening senereos if she complained. When she arrived at Bluegass Navigators , hospice center she was mortified from the horrific experience in Pikeville. She died before 72 hrs, at peace with family.

They definitely need a trauma ER and a regular ER. Waiting 5 hours when you are in pain is ridiculous.

This hospital is a total joke. They do not know how to treat patients or the families of patients. My husband was a patient there and they would not give him any IV fluids and then gave him lasix. He was very dehydrated and got pneumonia. I ask if he had pneumonia and they would change the subject. Most of the nurses would only say that he was the same as the last time I called or the same as the day before. I was not told what medications he was being given or any of the test they were doing or results. When I found out about some of the drugs they were giving him they did not want to stop even though I have his MPOA and told them he could not have them. They refused to try and get him off the vent. They threatened me and wanted me to make a decision over the phone. I told them no on a trach and feeding tube and they kept pressuring me. When I was finally able to go and see him I had no other choice but to let them do that so I could have him transferred out of there before he died. They were slowly killing him and didn't care because they wanted rid of him. His insurance was going to stop paying them and that was the reason why. My husband was transferred from there with a fever and blood infection plus a UTI and they did not say anything about it to anyone. My husband is doing a little better no thanks to Pikeville. This is the worst hospital you could send a loved one to. I regret letting him be transferred there from our local hospital. If they had done their jobs the right way my husband would be home with me where he belongs. Now it is going to be a long time before he comes home. Please don't let your loved ones go to this hospital if you want to keep them alive and well.

Can anyone explain to me how a 5 minute office visit at PMC can result in 2 bills - one from the physician and another from PMC noted as a "facility charge" for $287.0!!!!! The physician bill was $100, for which we paid the specialist copay of $60.00. My husband went in, had blood pressure taken, got weighed, and spoke to the physician for no more than 5 minutes. I am told that since the hospital owns the physician practice, they can charge a "facility fee". What, exactly, is this fee for? He waited an hour past his appointment time for a 5 minute appointment, and was essentially billed $387.00 total. What for???? The fee is over twice as much as the doctor charged. How is this justifiable?

My family and I are disappointment that the Blue Spruce on the 2nd Floor Main Entrance is not decorated for Christmas! Here's an idea. Have the volunteer department decorate so the patients entering and leaving can have some cheer.

The nurses are extremely rude and judgemental (definitely not a Christian environment). The staff is incompetent and sluggish. It takes them 4 hours to even sign us in and get chemo started. I definitely don't recommend going here as a cancer patient, they only seem to care about getting paid by the hour not helping anyone.

I would NOT recommend this hospital at all, you will lay days without pain medication, you have to keep asking and asking and asking for your medication, and they still are slow about getting it, and the doctors and nurses are so so so rude and they are super rough.

I was referred there for a sleep study by a pulmonologist. Hospital wants me to be seen by another Physician who will then refer for the sleep study. Seems someone wants to gough Medicare &/or other insurances for all they can. Understand there is a sole source contract on this physician. Have several other doctors that i want to us.

My step dad was in the hospital and needed soft food diet but the cooks could never get this in their heads no matter how many times the trays were sent back. One nurse aid got rough with me, nurse Paula on 8-1 was wonderful as most of them were. Not enough nurses for the floor they worked. ICU and truma team was over and beyond wonderful. Brought me back from death

I had my baby at this hospital and wish I done more research on this place. When I first got there to get prepared for my c-section they put me in a room that was dirty all the way around. The bathroom was nasty and you could tell it had not been cleaned in a while. There were soiled Linens in the bathroom which is just disgusting. The room was so small you could only fit one other person besides me in there.

My 84 year-old grandmother came to Pikeville Medical Center for surgery after breaking her hip. She had no water to drink, and her room smelled overpoweringly of feces. I am shocked, horrified, and disappointed with Pikeville Medical Center. If you have the means and care about your loved one receiving proper care and treatment, do not go to Pikeville Medical Center, or at least have them transferred as quickly as possible to a medical center in a larger city such as Lexington, Kentucky. Highlands Medical Center is another medical center in Eastern Kentucky and is not any better; my grandfather passed away there in horrible conditions.

Came in to the emergency room couldn't stand up straight for a couple days. I have 3 herniated disc I was hurting more than I've ever hurt before and the doctor didn't even check me he just talked to me saying oh it's just a flare up even tho this has never happened before. he just drugged me up said this should fix it. I didn't want to be drugged up I wanted something done. So needless to say I will not be going back!
