I didn't order food, just dropped in for a drink. Friendly people and good music from a live band.

Great bar for local live music every night (especially the blues), including open mic Tuesdays. Almost all shows are free (generous tips much appreciated).
There's a rich history and great story about the bar and building it's in. Lots of cool photos of musicians plus Marilyn Monroe and other classic era celebrities).
The bar was full of friendly music lovers and bartender Kyle was awesome - made me feel right at home.
They have a patio and you can get food too. It's also a short walk from Newport on the Levee.

We live across the street, so we consider Mansion Hill Tavern our neighbor. We were incredibly disappointed to receive a rebuff from the staff when we went in this morning to ask for help with a question. While we weren’t customers, we have been in the past and are just not interested in patronizing at all from this point on based on the surprising rude attitude towards us, when we were simply being neighborly.
Thank you.

This was our first time. Loved the old tradition inside and a great local bar. We plan to go back and listen to music one evening. It's definitely worth a stop in!

A cool place with a nice atmosphere. However, we’ve unfortunately had 2 very negative experiences here and will likely not be back. My husband first came to blues festival in 2023, loved his experience, and bought 2 t-shirts. We came again with 4 other friends to Blues Festival 2024. We arrived early, bc it’s a small establishment and we wanted to make sure we had seats. Upon our arrival, we found seats at the bar, as all tables had reserved signs on them. No problem. Our group of 6 sat at the bar and waited for service . The owner, Brian, was behind the bar and appeared to be annoyed we were there. He explained it was time for their shift change and the bartended hadn’t arrived yet. We sat with no drinks for about 10-15 minutes. Eventually Brian took our orders and served us our drinks. Our group bought 4 T-shirts. The music was great, and we soon forgot the unwelcomeness we felt when we had arrived.
Tonight, we came back to hear one of the great bands we had heard at blues festival. There was a discrepancy with our bills, when two couples who were with us, were charged 10.76 for buckets of bud light/miller light, yet we were charged 16.00 a bucket for the same beer. I went up to the bar to ask why. The bartender was trying to figure out why had happened , she was very friendly. And trying to help. She eventually asked the help of Brian bc she couldn’t figure it out. He was very annoyed, rude to me- yelling from down the bar, in front of other customers. Eventually he asked me “ma’am, what would you like us to do?” (In a very rude tone)
I replied, “no problem, no worries, it was a $12 discrepancy so I was just asking..” I walked away, and went back to table with our friends. A few minutes later the owner, Brian walked back to our table, slammed down a bucket of beer and said “on the house!”.
I was very unhappy with the way I was treated. It seems Brian knows good music, be brings in great musicians, but unfortunately he lacks customer service skills. We will not be back.

Really impressed by the attention to detail for a neighborhood bar - side patio with patio lights and ferns, flowers on the tables, cranberry goat cheese salad with the fried green tomatoes… and a really solid burger to boot. Only downside is the smokers that are sometimes at the patio space, but at least there’s another sidewalk table at the front and on the other side of the building. Will be back!

This is a hole in the wall kind of place that is well worth the visit! We are hoping to come back soon to try the brunch menu. This area of KY has a lot of music history and it certainly carries over into the establishment.

Great Live Blues Music Venue!
Great People and good vibe .
The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good. One odd thing that happened was that a server came up and said I'll take that when I wasn't really done yet. I was eating in the patio area because there were no places to sit inside. The bar staff did a good job.
Overall, I really like the venue and the music is great . The service is what should improve in my opinion.

What a great spot. I've lived around Newport/Bellevue for a few years now, and this is by far the best dive bar. Brian has put a lot of work into it, and now it has a fully stocked kitchen with some great food and an updated back patio! Great spot to spend a weeknight or a weekday hanging with friends.

I had a great time at Mansion Hill Tavern. Cat Campbell and the $2 pistols put on a great show. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town!
